I'm a Forgotten Realms person when it comes to published fantasy settings as well however I prefer NOT to RUN published settings where players with more free time than me tend to read more about the setting than I do and are annoyed when I deviate from what's published. I like my players to not know the setting outside what their characters experience and not be tied to whatever other official authors say the lore is. I did have to root it in actual history though so player's had some frame of reference in order to be able to desribe things quickly since I don't have a team of artists to create custom designs at my whim.

@astralodin @OriginalGrogna1 That's an excellent point. I run a Pathfinder 1e homebrew but if you're going with published setting pretty much every D&D one is better than Pathfinder's Golarion.

Finally got the courage to attend a local support group for my CPTSD, hopefully to make new connections & get signposted to some new therapies. I am nervous to be perceived in the physical, especially right now but I need to actively find a support network now. Wish me luck 💚

@OriginalGrogna1 Pathfinder 1e. Mainly for the improved skill system. Overall the changes are evolutionary not revolutionary. They're all basically the same game. I'd bet there are DMs running 3.5 games with house rules that deviate more from the 3.5 base than Pathfinder.
