@jeff_weinstein @thomasbsauer Make it as easy to shut down a company 😅. And taxes - didn’t realize it’s going to cost be $500 to file taxes for a business making $0.

@thomasbsauer Kind words. Magic wand, what should Stripe solve for founders _after_ incorporation? Big or small ideas welcome.

One of my favorite pictures. A guy I didn't know took it of us on a street in Palo Alto about 10 years ago.

Digital workflows are essentially reading and updating bits. Bits need state. Updating needs rules. Give AI agents access to both, and the job is done. This is the new workflow software.

Growing suspicion that there are vanishingly few use cases for consumer agents. People don’t do work in their personal lives. The only people who do are sf dorks using spreadsheets to plan trips to tahoe

@stevesi Hi Steven, I lead consumer experiences at Mindbody (and ex Microsoft!). Would love to understand and resolve this. Can you share which platform/app you were using?

Mindbody switched yoga studios to sign-in with Google. But the sign-in happens inside a browser frame. So instead of a user/password for a super low risk yoga site, I now have to do a full Google authentication every class.

“And if all else fails, I suppose you can always ask the all-powerful Claude to help you with meaning. Perhaps it will generate an immersive world for you — with no AI, limited resources, chores, and jobs. Maybe that is where we already are.” open.substack.com/pub/aswathkris…

Did not expect a question that starts out 'Do you think before you speak?' to go so well. A+ question from Charlotte Harpur A++ response from Eileen Gu.

@tomfgoodwin GM, Old Navy, WalMart, Tysons, Nabisco… People seem to demand many things that aren’t so “great”. Maybe there are other attributes to being great besides a singular notion of absolute quality?

When you think about it, Almost every single Microsoft product is substandard, yet here they are with 228,000 employees making $281.7 billion in revenue every year. The idea that people demand or use or appreciate great software just isn't true.

All knowledge work can be expressed in code. It used to be expensive to produce code, so we only did it for the highest value use cases. Code is now cheap. If you are not a software engineer but work at a desk, the words "Claude Code" should terrify you.
