One of the things that I get onto many of my Trump-hating friends about is when they call Trump an idiot. Or that he's stupid.
My response: "He's a billionaire."
Their response, every single time: "He had an easy start in life! And he's had bankruptcies!"
"He started with a million dollars, yes. Do you know what ultimately results when you hand the average, public-educated citizen a million dollars, such as lottery wins?
And yes, he's filed for bankruptcy. He went from billions to nothing and rebounded back to a billions.
What does that tell you?"

@MattWalshBlog @rawmilkhoney Lmfao, u went to a party and started asking people about politics and then are surprised when they blow off the questions, what a dipshit

There's basically no difference between this and the exact same kinds of "dumb spring breaker" videos you'd see 10 years ago or 20 years ago or 30 years ago. I actually don't mind the fact that a bunch of 18 and 19 year old kids are totally ignorant about world affairs. That's healthier than obsessively doomscrolling alone in your basement or whatever. The problem is that these kids can vote. We should all just agree that 19 year olds are stupid and don't know anything, and that's basically fine, but it's also why they shouldn't be able to vote. Raise the voting age to 25.

@Ausbloke93 @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus In short i could say anything i want to and it "adds" to the field of philosophy. Same with language. That isnt true for science, biology, archeology, etc etc etc
English

@Ausbloke93 @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus Philosophy is more akin to language, shifting based on context and while technically only growing in depth, due to the fact that we "lose" words, phrases, language styles, beliefs, it's not so much of a science where we go from knowing objectively less to objectively more.
English

Nietzsche was hardcore until he saw a horse getting whipped. You can only suppress what you know for so long.

@Ausbloke93 @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus Someone could make a very simple philosophy book today that would be "worse" (less well polished, more logical flaws) than nicomachean ethics. I might agree more with nicomachean ethics. Doesn't make one more "advanced" or "regressed" than another. Its not linear.
English

@Ausbloke93 @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus I never claimed it does. I simply said it doesnt move in a linear way forward as your original tweet implies. Philosophies don't become "outdated" because someone came out with a new, different one that argues the original.
English

@Ausbloke93 @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus Yes the core foundation of any field stems from guys sitting around and doing thinking as an activity. But the field of mathematics and the field of philosophy couldnt be MORE different in nature
English

@Ausbloke93 @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus Listing other forms of science with obvious linear progression isn't "name dropping", and you're arguing the etymology and the fact that sciences stem from the philosophy, when none of tht has anything to do with the fact that philosophy doesnt progress linearly in the same way
English

@Ausbloke93 @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus No the fuck its not "like saying pythagoras debunked all math after him." Because philosophy is intangible. Nevertheless Pythagoras did in fact debunk any math after him that disagrees with his theories lmfao
English

And only theists are trying to cause regress in philosophy. Claiming your personal preference philosopher debunked all philosophy that followed it, is like saying Pythagoras debunked all mathematics since him.
It’s wild this is needing further spelling out when what you compare “to science” WAS SCIENCE for all history until the 16th century
English

@Ausbloke93 @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus Just because they lacked the vocabulary to properly differentiate the exploration of the world of human consciousness and the study of our physical realm does not mean that there's no difference. And you keep straying further and further from your initial argument.
English

@at0msix @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus Philosophy guided literally all of those, what were tech, physics and math used, studied as, and all known as at the times before this contemporary age of linguistics?
English

@Ausbloke93 @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus To even call something that is so intangible capable of regression honestly is also inaccurate but works for the point you are trying to make that theres no way an outdated/argued philosophy can debunk a newer one. Nietzsche is also dated/argued. Hence the convo were having rn.
English

@Ausbloke93 @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus What part of what i just said is lacking in understanding of the etymology or history of science? I simply argued your concept of philosophy "advancing" linearly as time goes on. Philosophy, religion, politics, etc. are all capable of regression unlike tech, physics, or math
English

@Ausbloke93 @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus Also, sciences were called natural philosophies because they were a lot closer to being just that. Simply people's ideas about how how things might work due to a lack of instruments to observe/measure properly. Philosophy is forever bound to a grey area.
English

@Ausbloke93 @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus Only in the sense that language has been refined to more clearly articulate ideas. Sciences being called "natural philosophy" due to a lack of terminology is completely irrelevant. I dont even understand what "more accurate" means to you in this context lmfao
English

@Ausbloke93 @forever0th @R96091_ @darwintojesus Philosophy isn't like a science though. Philosophy and the way we interact with it are context dependent so there is no straight line forward the way there is with say, particle physics.
English

@forever0th @at0msix @R96091_ @darwintojesus Which bit? The historical aspects that everyone understands or the assertion that none does?
English

@Ausbloke93 @R96091_ @darwintojesus Philosophy isnt necessarily a science that's being advanced upon in the same way as technology or medicine lmfao
English

@R96091_ @darwintojesus Possibly the anti philosophical thing I’ve ever read…. Care to elaborate how outdated and refuted arguments are debunking all philosophical advances since?

@basedfeels @tkisrage @shedrinkswater In what world is hailey Bieber your run of the mill average woman
English

There is a particular kind of feminine disorder that no amount of status, beauty, or matrimonial selection can seem to cure, where being chosen by a singular man does not quiet the appetite for visibility, but merely coexists with it. As though intimate devotion were never the final hunger at all, only one stream of nourishment among others, and not even the most intoxicating one.
This behaviour suggests that public attention has ceased to be incidental and has instead become structural to the self. Some women betray intimacy because the spectacle has colonised their inner world more deeply than devotion ever did.
