Wow. Some folx at Mozilla, etc., have started turning against FOSS, open data, open knowledge projects, etc., because they benefit tech monopolists. 🤷‍♂️ I still think Wikipedia, Wikidata, Musicbrainz, OpenStreetMap, etc., are great projects and help humanity.

@piotrmiecz Byłem na spotkaniu z ludźmi śledzącymi debatę cyfrową w UK. Twierdzą że AI nie będzie tematem wyborczym (także w ich wyborach krajowych). Myślę że mają rację, ludzie entuzjazmują się AI, Ale nie łączą tego z polityką. Obstawiałbym że jakieś postulaty znajdą się w grupie Zielonych

@Dorialexander Indeed, Mistral was supposed to be the European champion of open-source #AI. now they're at best a hybrid dev team, at worst following the OpenAI trajectory.

Beyond the impressive achievement, now that everything is closed source, it raises the issue of Mistral differenciation vs. openai. Not sure if European diversity will be enough without any transparency on teh training data.
