I see copywriting as a superpower that can amplify the impact of already-awesome products. If your product sucks, great copywriting is just lipstick on a pig. But if your product is already changing lives and *then* you hire a great copywriter? Watch out, world.

@agracefulgrin Ugh please resist the urge to relate everything in your life to a business/career decision. You're allowed to have life events and not tell your network about them, people.

Just saw an engagement announcement on LinkedIn. The guy posted that he’d been busy “planning the most important event in his marketing career” 🤢. I love love, truly. But STOP equating *people* w/ a career. It’s gross.

@Kimwritesforfun @emiliambenton Lol and then after I called her out I got the classic "I'm sorry if I offended you" and then "but you have to understand I want a niece or nephew" byeee

@atbacher @emiliambenton OMG I saw that! I loved how you handled that! Most of my friends are childfree and want to stay that way so I get pretty defensive of them.

@atbacher "Because I love my life." "I prefer financial and emotional stability." "I have friends with kids." "My business is my baby and it never cries or talks back." "Because most kids grow up to be insufferable adults who ask inappropriate questions like 'when are you having kids?'"

This bugs me so much. I started a collection of responses to use when random people make comments about "why haven't you had kids yet?" What are your favorite ways to respond?

"What a boring comment. Don't you have anything more interesting to say?" "It's sad that the only thing you find interesting about me is my ability to reproduce" "That question again? Isn't there anything else you can ask me?"

I get the luxury of running with someone ~1 day/week. Right now he’s injured, so our time is limited. Totally normal to maximize that time by creating a running conversation agenda right? Or is that very much an #Academic runner thing??

Having Re: used in the subject line when you are reaching out for the first time might get you the email open you want, but you immediately showcase that you are deceptive. Trust is a differentiator and this certainly doesn't garner that.

Favorite part of my process: the "copy gems" doc. How it works: while you're researching, you throw in brilliant lines of copy that would make great headings, CTAs, etc. Then, when you sit down to write, you have all these brilliant lines just waiting for you. **chef's kiss**

Realized I make my best (and often biggest) business decisions in the gym, when I'm doing boring physical therapy exercises. Where do you come up with ideas and make decisions?
