🚨Breaking: The Senate has confirmed Robert Cekada to be the new Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, making him only the third Senate-confirmed leader in the agency’s history and the first active ATF Special Agent to hold the title of director. A law enforcement veteran with more than 30 years of dedicated service, Cekada brings extensive experience and steady leadership to the role. President Trump nominated Cekada originally Nov. 18, 2025. He well-positioned to guide the ATF into its next chapter with a proven track record of taking violent criminals off the streets while protecting Constitutional rights of Americans. More at atf.gov.

We wish a speedy recovery to the @SecretService Agent who was injured during the WHCD shooting, Saturday. ATF immediately mobilized resources to support our law enforcement partners. @ATFWashington Special Agents responded, and the ATF National Tracing Center worked urgently to identify the origins of the firearms recovered from the suspect at the scene.

Asheile Foster, 22, and Darren Foster, 21,  brothers who reside in the District of Columbia, were charged with multiple counts today in connection with the March 23 shooting of a U.S. Park Police Officer.     The Fosters made their first appearances today before Magistrate Judge Moxila A. David Oday Smith, 39, a previously convicted felon residing in the District of Columbia, was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison for illegally possessing a loaded handgun. On July 14, 2025, Metropolitan Police Department Crime Suppression Team officers observed Smith near a bus stop carrying a bag that appeared to be weighed down by an object. When officers approached, Smith fled on foot, throwing the bag over a fence behind a nearby business. Officers recovered the bag and found a black Glock 27 .40 caliber pistol loaded with one round in the chamber and 14 rounds in the magazine. Today, Rodney Baggott, 58, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of release in connection with the fatal 2024 road rage shooting of Uber Eats driver Rasheek Abdullah.    On Jan. 30, 2024, Baggott made a right-hand turn when Abdullah passed him on the left-hand side. Baggott became enraged believing that Abdullah had cut him off. Baggott drove up next to Abdullah, pulled out a gun, and shot him in the neck.      Read More Here: justice.gov/usao-dc/pr/roa… @USAttyPirro @FBI @DCPoliceDept
