My heart breaks for ex-Muslims. Imagine going from worshipping the all-powerful God who saved Jesus and said that he was a blessing (19:31) and one of those closest to Allah (3:45), to thinking that you are so indebted to your Creator that an innocent man had to come down, take on the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13), and become a curse for you, being cursed by God, who curses another God, so that you can be forgiven by that very same God. Let’s take the attributes “yad/hand”, the name and meaning would be same in the mind, but the haqiqa different.
🟣 Name - yad/hand
⚪️ Meaning - A hand is a spatially extended terminal part of a limb that is specially adapted for grasping and manipulating objects. 🖐️
🟡 Creature’s haqiqa - contingent, imperfect, destructible, temporal.
🔵 God’s haqiqa - necessary, perfect, indestructible, eternal.
Notice: the haqiqa doesn’t change the name/meaning, it just qualifies them. Hence we get these two final definitions;

🧵In Carl Sharif’s book on Ibn Taymiyah, he used the coloring analogy to describe Ibn Taymiyah’s understanding of haqiqa/reality,
“…we may say that all other attributes of a thing are “colored,” or conditioned, by the ontological status (ḥaqīqa) of the essence in which they adhere, as determined by the four traits enumerated above.”
So, even though the attributes have same name and same meaning in the mind, the reality of it is completely different, as determined by the four traits.
