@ashoswai it could be a proxy actor. Groups aligned with Iran don’t always act under direct orders, but their actions can still be perceived as Iranian moves. That creates plausible deniability while keeping pressure on US.

🇺🇸🇮🇷 The Pentagon just released an official unclassified map of what the ceasefire with Iran has looked like since April 7. The timeline: commercial vessels struck, UAVs launched at U.S. warships, 3 ships seized or attacked by name, mines laid in the Strait, and on May 4, Iran directly attacked U.S. warships. Hegseth yesterday: "The ceasefire is not over." The Pentagon's own document tells a different story about what "ceasefire" means in this war.

like any two strong regional players, they also do have strategic competition. So instead of a “fallout,” what’s more realistic is managed rivalry and even close allies can clash, but breaking ties at that level would require a major shift in regional order……. But to be candid the the fallout has begun and the trust is mostly gone.

@hashurtag That is a bit too neat of a prediction for a region that rarely follows neat scripts. UAE and Israel are not just acting on ego they are acting on shared interests: trade, security and a common read of regional threats.
