@xNanochip I never questioned the x3d performance. I just said it's stupid to tell people to avoid 13th and 14th gen Intel cpus under any circumstances. With fast and tuned ram those cpus still deliver a very good performance in vrchat.

@MaraRizer Don't forget to use the correct bounds. 0.90, 1.17, 0.22 implies that your bounds are too small and have mixed sizes. Ideal is 2.00, 2.00, 2.00

@UnknownSquids @LumiiVRC First unpopular opinion: give people proper documentation and tools to do it. Second: if no lods are found or detected, the sdk prevents an upload. It's a steep learning curve but in the end everyone would benefit from it😉

@atma_hd @LumiiVRC You realise that LoD would have to be set up by avatar authors/uploaders, right? People already refuse to optimise one version of their avatar, so expecting them to make several LoDs is hopeless. VRC does the parts it can do already. Texture/IK/network/physbone LoDs.

Avatars and attitudes like this are -exactly- the reason this feature is going to be spectacular. For an avatar with no clothes, the poly count is insane - and *is* a good metric when you consider that in a 40-80 person instance full of "shouldn't be very poor" avatars - you'll end up rendering millions if not tens of millions of polygons. It's not "modern", it's unoptimized - something pretty par for the course from Booth. I've seen models with great detail coming in at 5-10k polygons. -- "Alienating" people "inexperienced with optimization" is such a nothingburger. It's incentive, not alienation. You want people to show your avatar? Learn. Research. Ask questions. Too hard? Use a public model or commission someone. It's greedy to ask other people to suffer for your own laziness. #VRChat

This is a modern Booth avatar. Adding the performance gating system before re-evaluating the performance ranks risks alienating new players or those inexperienced with optimization. Polycount as a standalone metric is a poor performance indicator, this shouldn't be very-poor.

@Kat_Fillet @BrokenBrickVR You should make it more clear/obvious if it was meant to be hyperbolic. And of course, 1 million triangles is way too much for one avi. Sadly it's possible to upload an avi with so many triangles, the sdk doesn't prevent it.

@atma_hd @BrokenBrickVR the average model will never have 1 million polys on it, and actually it shouldn't even come close to that, I do not see what makes my commebt stupid as it is a hyperbole and not meant to be taken seriously

@LumiiVRC And remember that vrchat itself is a huge bottleneck because it still uses DirectX 11 - an api from 2009. Even the fastest cpu's are dying in big instances because DX11 is heavily single threaded.

@LumiiVRC Modern games with high-end graphics draw millions of triangles on your screen without issues, especially open world titles. Triangles alone are ineligible for performance measurement. Too many skinned meshes, materials, particles and heavy shaders are FAR worse in vrchat.

@Kat_Fillet @BrokenBrickVR Don't be stupid. Modern avis are far above 100k triangles without a single outfit on, just the body, head and hair meshes. Mayo for example has 128k triangles. Adding one outfit can easily increase it to 150-180k or even more.

There's no valid reason your VRChat sale model/asset isn't Android compatible in 2026. VRC Constraints, Toon Shader, Transparent materials, and Particles are all possible cross-platform. There's a massive demand for compatibility, you just haven't seen it yet.

No warning, no nothing. After 4000+ hours of no issues using my same avatars, I got a temp ban for 3 days out of nowhere during #Vket x @TheFishbowlVR Party as Photographer. No clue what triggered it. I can't even check anything. This is Bullshit. #VRChat do better!
