@MargBarAmerica on this note, i've discussed these drugs with my psychiatrist bc of weight gain that occurred after a ptsd episode. they seem to have a lot of uses that shouldn't be dictated by those that instead need to work on their control issues

we don’t outlaw alcohol bc alcoholics exist, we don’t villainize food bc binge ED sufferers exist. stop reducing glp-1’s as mere vanity drugs. work your issues out away from them instead of making harder for people who suffer from T2D, autoimmune issues, etc. from affording them.

re glp-1’s: stop centering the opinions of skinny people or restrictive ED sufferers on these miracle drugs. YEARS of these discussions encouraged insurance companies & policymakers to also see them as “skinny drugs” instead of medicine, making them harder to afford for patients.

if it makes anyone feel better, when the show came out many ppl offline thought criticism of her body was silly. i specifically remember the men in my life saying, yeah she's a bit annoying but i find her body attractive. online convos have always been a bit skewed from reality

it's crazy how people acted like she was so grotesquely fat at the height of her fame but when you see her next to a bunch of supermodels she literally looks like your friend who has an email job. when are we going to have a week of Lena Dunham Body Politics Revisionism on here

in my last 2 positions i just lied and said i did. no one checked in on it. corporations make tons of pointless demands that you can lie about. they just want to feel satisfied they’re controlling your day

Ai is not taking people’s jobs. companies are doing mass layoffs and then making other employees take on extra tasks. your job wasn’t automated, it was given to cheryl without giving her a raise.

i've become very adept at ignoring "ai overview" but i was trying to check if i was using a verb correctly and noticed ai thought i was complimenting it. "feature not a bug" cliche except this time it's about triggering dormant schizophrenia

@infinite_jaz it doesn’t make sense bc it’s what he wants to be true rather than what is true. the way he talks about politics sometimes reminds me of someone who’s convincing themselves a relationship is working out when it isn’t. he recently said he saw himself as a peacetime writer

I am not a chronic Ezra hater and I think his latest conversation about the one-state reality covers some important ground, but he still occasionally says things like this that just really do not make sense

i produced theatre for most of my adult life and literally no one questioned behavior like this en masse until like maybe 2015. the thought was that all that mattered was the quality of the end product and i still struggle with that, having been assaulted by fellow artists myself

I wrote about the very funny and ridiculous but also not-funny and ominous @TheFP episode this week, in which @Olivia_Reingold fabricated a detail to advance an Islamophobic narrative—plus the Israeli gov't rewarding its most violent settlers after the condemnations faded. 🔗👇

i read the ezra klein hasan piker essay this morning and spent about 45 minutes trying to understand why liking how the hezbollah flag looks is offensive. ask a graphic designer in private what flags they like lmao

i find that much of ezra's worldview comes from the way he wishes things were rather than the way they actually are. when i read his writing now, i think about ta-nehisi coates asking him recently how he sees himself & his reply is as a writer during "peacetime", so... a fantasy
Nathan J Robinson@NathanJRobinson

Ezra Klein's essay on Hasan Piker at least comes out with the correct position, but this idea that we're dealing with "a different Israel" today ignores the fact that the romanticized Israel that "older people remember" was established through the Nakba

ezra klein writes "The comparison of liberal Zionists to Nazis...is repugnant...What made the Nazis notable was their effort to exterminate the Jewish people." the point of the comparison is to make ppl think about what they are supporting & klein isn't interested in doing that
The Tennessee Holler@TheTNHoller

EZRA KLEIN: “Hasan Piker is not the enemy… @hasanthehun isn’t a “Jew hater.” — He’s an anti-Zionist… The Israel young people know is not the Israel that older people remember.” nytimes.com/2026/04/12/opi…
