@MohammadAsif_1 @NicolaSturgeon Why didn’t she take concerns about the SNP’s finances seriously when they were first brought to her? Seems like an utter failure in leadership of the party at best.
English

I stand with @NicolaSturgeon
Nicola is serving a sentence for a crime she did not commit. She was betrayed and deceived by a man she trusted, then subjected to relentless scrutiny and condemnation by sections of the establishment media.
Stop the persecution.

@MJ4804048521795 @GeneralGoyslop @PolitlcsUK When it isn’t thought out, you end up with the stupid system currently being implemented with ID verification in the UK and in the EU. Still something needs to be done with these platforms.
English

@atom7375 @GeneralGoyslop @PolitlcsUK “Well thought out” = hundreds of millions of taxpayer money wasted on useless consultants, in typical UK style
English

@GeneralGoyslop @PolitlcsUK Implementation is another discussion, which needs to be well thought out. But you cannot ignore the fact something needs to be done with how widespread the problem is.
English

@atom7375 @PolitlcsUK you as a "cyber security expert" should know exactly why this is a shit idea

@ElectionMapsUK Lib Dem’s are the dark horse. We get near to no media time in comparison to the other parties, yet we just keep winning.

@PolitlcsUK @Telegraph Yet Reform UK says Robert Kenyon did vote for Brexit despite him claiming he didn't in 2019? Does anyone in that party actually know what’s going on with this candidate? Do they know what he even supports, and does he know what Reform supports?
English

🚨 NEW: Reform's Makerfield candidate Robert Kenyon said in 2016 that Brexiteers "peddled nationalistic pish"
"We've shot our economy in the foot for the short term"
[@Telegraph]

English

I used to support these strikes, but enough is enough.
Our economy is struggling there isn’t endless money in the public purse, and people across every area of the public sector are suffering. Resident doctors have already had a 28.9% pay rise over the last three years after repeated strike action, the largest pay rises in the public sector, and now they are demanding even more. If the government doesn't say no, they'll just push again expecting the government to fold as they have every other time.
When they went into medicine the pay scales were public. They knew what they were walking into. They knew the training pathway, they knew the pressures, and they knew this was a route into one of the most secure and well paid careers in the country, with consultant basic pay now starting at around £109,000 and rising to around £145,000 in England. At this point repeatedly walking out is putting patients in A&E at risk, putting people on waiting lists at risk, and piling even more pressure onto an already broken NHS. This is no longer a fair pay campaign. It is turning into a money grab, and it is becoming indefensible.
English

🚨 NEW: The Green Party’s Makerfield candidate Sarah Wakefield runs a charity which calls for British farming to be “decolonised” with “inclusive spaces”
It also shared a report arguing perfectionism is an example of “white supremacy culture”

@PolitlcsUK This man really is the gift that keeps on giving, each day it’s something new. He’s the best campaigner Labour have in this election.
English

He’s just doing a very Blair thing diagnosing Labour as too left/too timid/too anti business, then offering “Radical Centre” language that is compelling at 30,000 feet but much thinner when you ask how it survives contact with Parliament, unions, the public, the NHS, the benefits system, and actual delivery. Would be nice if he could offer something viable, rather than trying to drive a steak through the party.
Also a lot of it is still vague. “Whatever it takes” on small boats is not a policy. “Reimagined State” sounds impressive but needs mechanisms. “Mixing private and public provision” in healthcare is a massive political grenade and he does not spell out the safeguards.
English

@atom7375 @PolitlcsUK He's legit got a full 10 point plan in his 5,000 word essay. It's mostly tosh, but at least he sets out a plan. x.com/PolitlcsUK/sta…
Politics UK@PolitlcsUK
"We don’t have a worked-out, coherent plan for the country in a fast-changing world and are in the wrong political position from which we can devise one and win a second term" "Trying to force the PM out before we know what policy direction we’re bringing in is not a serious way of conducting ourselves" Full 5,000 word essay: institute.global/insights/polit…

Reform: Robert Kenyon's comments are completely unacceptable but we still want him to be your MP...
BBC Radio 4 Today@BBCr4today
“I’m not going to defend those comments.” Danny Kruger, Reform UK MP, says previous social media comments made by the party’s candidate in Makerfield were unacceptable but argues that the country has bigger problems to deal with.
