Friday was my final day at @defiapp. Back in May 2024, I was a few weeks removed from a public exit at @wormhole. The tweet went semi-viral. My DMs filled up. One of those DMs was from @merovingian0101 - he'd seen the tweet, said they were building something, thought I should hear about it. I was talking to four or five teams at the time. Called a friend whose opinion I actually trust and asked for his honest read on each one. He paused on one of them and said the team behind it was legit. Said he trusted them. That was enough. I think I literally had one or two interviews with Mero. He went back to the team with my number. A few days later I get a response from him in TG DMs that the offer was approved. I called my wife, she nudged me towards accepting, and the rest is history. I didn't even meet any of the cofounders - Dan, Ken, Aaron - until I was already onboard. Totally crypto, I know. The first thing I noticed about this team wasn't the product. It was the vibe. A few weeks in, Ken drops a message in the marketing chat - no context, totally unprompted - "Have a date tonight. Usually only try to do the girlfriend thing during bear markets but wish me luck." I remember reading that and laughing out loud and thinking: okay. These are my people. What followed was the most intense and rewarding stretch of my career. I joined pre-launch as the first community/growth hire. Built the community, social, and support functions from zero. The X account literally had 1,000 followers when I joined. It peaked at over 200k with me at the helm. I managed all socials from Day 1 and since then touched everything we scaled - multi-video series on TikTok, YouTube, and beyond. Helped scale Defi App to 1M+ registered users, $30B+ in trading volume, and $7M+ in annualized revenue within a few short months of going public with the product. We ran a $1M trading contest at the end of 2025 that was one of the most fun things I've ever been part of executing. I got to work alongside awesome people like @JD0x2e, @bigironchris and @shreddydefi - three of the sharpest people in this space - and learned a ton from everyone along the way. S/O to Shreddy, @0xUxDesign, and @0xdcota RE: the Miami trip. 🚗 I got to discover and lock in generational talent like Paulo, whose animated video work over the last year set a standard I'm genuinely proud of. And I got to be guided, challenged, and trusted by Ken, Aaron, Dan, Ajdin, and @freshPizzaDev who is just, genuinely, one of the good ones - plus many more names than I have room to share. I want to give a massive shout out to every member of the community, every KOL and partner I've grinded with, and every protocol team I've had the pleasure of collaborating with. You know who you are. Defi App is in great hands. The product is real. The team is serious. The road ahead is long and I'm rooting for them hard. Got to work on some things the team will share when ready - grateful to have had a hand in what's coming. As for me - taking a short break. Summer is coming and it feels freeing to think about enjoying that with my wife, who's a schoolteacher and has summers off. Then, something new. I've spent the last two years inside one of the fastest-growing DeFi startups in the space. I've seen what scales, what breaks, what the unglamorous middle looks like, and what it feels like when things actually click. If you're building something and need someone who's lived it - not consulted on it, lived it - my DMs are open. And if you're early in your career and want to ask about any of it - the wins, the chaos, the stuff that doesn't make it into the highlight reel - AMA. I'll do my best to be brutally honest and genuinely helpful. Godspeed and God bless. fin.

JACKAL
JACKAL@Jackal_Protocol·
We started Jackal five years ago with a simple belief: people should own their data. We went all in on that. We built a lot. Ten apps. Drive. Pin. Vault. Radiant. Name Service. Outposts on Archway and Base. Beacon. Farcaster miniapps. Stargaze plugins. Respawn. Five versions of the chain. A ton of open source tooling. Two versions of S3 tooling. Video streaming. Peer-to-peer file transfer. IPFS integrations. An Optimism demo using Jackal as a data availability layer. We are proud of that work. But we failed to build something people wanted at venture scale. The crypto ecosystem as a whole has consolidated into a few successful use cases. All in fintech. Stablecoins. Prediction markets. Perps. Lending. Etc. The market for everything else has not developed into something large enough to support a real team without relying on token speculation. We believed we could change that with Jackal. We didn’t. From the beginning our goal was to build real products, real usage, and a sustainable revenue stream for the protocol selling storage. We failed to make that happen after five years. Marston and I are moving on. Back into the idea maze. We don’t know what’s next for us. What this means for Jackal is straightforward. - The chain will remain live. - It will run in maintenance mode. - We can’t commit to new protocol development. We still believe in the idea of sovereign data. That has not changed. We are excited about what teams like @SigeaOfficial are doing, and we hope they succeed. We will help where we can on the Jackal side. The chain, the apps, and the tooling are open source. If others want to build, we are happy to help with code reviews and questions. We spent years on this. We pushed hard. We took big swings. We didn’t make it work. That’s on us. Thank you to the community, the team, and partners that supported and worked with us over the years. - @OSINTDunny and @MarstonConnell

@CatfishFishy Was LayerZero really compromised or was it the devs misconfiguring a flexible system in ways that were unsafe? Still not clear to me 😑

A summary of the RAVE -95% price fluctuation from $26 to $1 over the past 24 hours. RAVE Timeline: April 18, 2026 7:26 am UTC: I posted a call to action for Binance, Bitget, & Gate to investigate RAVE market manipulation and offered a $10K bounty. 10:56 am UTC: I posted an update increasing the bounty to $25K. 11:18 am UTC: Bitget publicly acknowledged the call to action. 2:08 pm UTC: Binance publicly acknowledged the call to action. 3:06 pm UTC: RaveDAO posted claiming they have no involvement. 4:19 pm UTC: Gate publicly acknowledged the call to action. In the days leading up, on April 13 & 14, I confronted RaveDAO co-founder Yemu Xu (wildwoomoo) but have yet to receive an answer. RAVE launched in Dec 2025 on Binance Alpha with a 1B total supply. The addresses below, linked to the initial distribution, control ~95% of the RAVE supply (h/t Mlm): 0x9831156F1a6E506Fca41503590b42F07c2e80f54 0x8Ed6245C3276307E1A9D9Dc872E98A0E770070fd 0x6020656d1EF182173E45D4Fc375BDD5a48c674B0 0x2664cB80a5ee7D8EC05fe7C752dD62E078056E6d 0x2D81F8AeBf3e58A5e638006c9fd8F38C5220ecab 0x31694d761A8e851cFFbCd286aC54D01e5Ce5aFe6 0x0A1F07993a51CcEb4f52CA67765AECeADDA790d7 0xEB74Df8588cFC1C179Df4bd96C0bB8B227B9bE92 0x53d7d52301366DC14E1916b14eFeC1aDD8F3487b I found suspicious CEX activity in April 2026 tied to RaveDAO team addresses onchain, which potentially contradicts their recent statement: Bitget 0x2dc20f2180582172f5450c5d71e23fa438a7031b 0xa3a02aeb97fc1737c66f50d07d024799c137891d 0x2d95eb42525e6087e0cb7869f98da6838ed2e743 Gate 0x31711246b05d71e9eda5e38a3abb654020ee3353 Given the supply concentration, the team at minimum knows who is responsible for this price action. A simple litmus test: $6B in market cap was wiped out on just $52M of 24hr liquidations (h/t CoinGlass). That ratio points to a manipulated and unsustainable valuation. RAVE is not the only token with manipulation we have seen on major centralized exchanges. It's just the most blatant, reaching a top 15 market cap within 10 days before dropping 95% in hours. Other projects with highly questionable price action recently include: SIREN, MYX, COAI, M, PIPPIN, RIVER. Exchanges need faster intervention on manipulation. Detection at scale isn't easy, but each day of delay means retail traders absorb losses while platforms collect fees on the volume. The outcome is the same regardless of intent. While it's good the exchanges responded, I find it unlikely this activity wasn't spotted internally before I raised it publicly. I recognize how much this behavior takes from retail traders, and I plan to investigate similar movements in hopes of identifying the responsible parties. I want to reiterate that I did not take a position. If I had, I would have been liquidated myself. I also could not anticipate if or when the exchanges would comment publicly. My $25K bounty will remain active since the only DMs received were unverified claims rather than non-public information with supporting evidence as requested.

This is what a real science looks like. Not an anonymous account. Not a wellness influencer. Not someone selling fear. I’m a PhD chemist working with scientists every day. If you believe data should matter more than drama, follow along. And say “Hi” so I know you’re human.
