Meanwhile, Fisheries Minister, Emelia Arthur (MP, Shama), has given end-of-year 2026 for the operationalisation of the Anomabo Fisheries College. According to her, civil works being carried at site stands at 80%; curriculum has been developed & a Bill is awaiting cabinet approval

Ghana is estimated to consume 1.2 million metric tonnes of fish annually but currently is able to meet only 680,000 MT. To boost consumption of fish, govt is working on encouraging inland fishing to complement marine activities by retooling fisherfolk with modern implements.

Fisheries Minister Emelia Arthur has assured #GhParliament C'ttee on Assurances that her outfit will complete 300 automated premix sites by year end 2026. As of 2024, the contractor was paid $9.4m however after MOF validation figure jumped to $15.7m. New contract sum now $24.7m.

According to Deputy Education, Clement Apaak (MP, Builsa South), a sum of GH¢610,515,637.59 was paid as book and research allowance for the 2024/2025 academic year. #GhParliament
