The House has established a 3-member adhoc c'ttee (see: attached) to recommend for appointment of an auditor to audit & report on the financial statements of the Office of the Auditor-General for the year ended 31 December 2024. C'ttee has 30 days to report back. #GhParliament

#GhParliament has ratified by resolution the mining lease agreement b/n GoG & Barari DV Ghana ltd for the mining of lithium & other minerals at Mankessim. The minority voted en-bloc against the motion citing concerns of a change in original agreement as first introduced in 2024.

According to the lithium mining lease agreement negotiated b/n GoG & Barari DV, the company will conduct feasibility study to evaluate viability of constructing a jetty, barge or mini-port system at Saltpond or an adjacent location within 6 months from ratification. #GhParliament

The C'ttee observed, while Ghana held 10% free carried interest in all mining companies operating in the country, the lithium agreement as negotiated by govt was increased to 13%. C'ttee further recommended that MIIF takes equity in the project. #GhParliament

Lands & Natural Resources Minister @ArmahKofiBuah made a commemorative statement to mark Int'l Day of Forests on March 21. He used the statement to celebrate milestones attained by govt so far including planting 30m trees across the country against a target of 30m. #GhParliament

No #MPQuestions have been programmed for the ensuing week. Speaking after the business statement presentation, Minority Leader Alex Afenyo-Markin reminded #GhParliament of 2 pending motions by the minority suggesting to the leader of govt to get them moved on Tuesday.

Business statement for the 8th & final week ending Friday, March 27 was presented by the Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga. #GhParliament is expected to adjourn sine next week Friday. Meanwhile, Biz C'ttee has proposed extended sittings in the ensuing week to begin at 10am.
