A Greek gold, rock crystal and garnet box bezel ring Hellenistic period, circa 3rd-2nd century B.C. Went on auction on the 2nd July 2025, estimated valuation before the auction was £8-12k, sold for £100 800. Must have been an intense auction.

My somewhat boojie cabinet arrived from a well-known auction house. They hadn’t cared to scrutinise let alone remove the detritis. The thimble is 18 carat gold set with pearls. Another vendor unknowingly failed by the negligence of an auctioneer.
