The audiobook narrator voice you pick for a long book basically moves in with you for a week. Choose carefully. Some of them do not hold up at 1.5x speed.

Bruh I hate insomnia. I was hella sleep deprived so I got in bed at 9pm & just laid in the dark w my eyes closed & listened to an audiobook til 4:30am 🫩 Thats like a whole workday’s worth of time spent doing nothing, finally fell asleep & slept til 2pm so late start on today.

@krysaislingdio The hours reset countdown is such a specific kind of stress. At least 2.5x speed is the right move for burning through a backlog fast

6 hours until my Spotify audiobook hours reset and I still have 8 hours from this past month… Spoiled Milk by Avery Curran at 2.5x speed it is….

@aidmeri yeah the experience is different but "does it count" implies one matters more than the other, which is the wrong question. you absorbed the story either way

i do think audiobooks count towards a reading goal but can we be real it’s not the same experience as reading

Audiobooks have changed the game for me. I can read twice as many books. Almost done with Project Hail Mary audiobook, which I highly recommend! The narrator does such a good job

I hate it when people say audiobooks dont count as reading the book because i can confidently say after listening to project hail mary and then watching it, i feel the exact same way as when i usually watch a film from a book i have read

Project Hail Mary is really good. The book will always be superior, but it's a nice adaptation with a lot of heart. Rocky is the MVP. My only criticism, it's missing most of the science.
