We have so many reasons to be grateful to her: She presented a ground-breaking report on prostitution to the United Nations Human Rights Council last year; she followed this with a position paper on the challenges women have in exiting prostitution, and last and not least, she spoke at our Women for sale: Private matter or public crisis? last year. In a world dominated by lobbyists for expanding the sexploitation industry and apologists for the devastation it causes to individuals and the catastrophic impact it is having on society, Reem Alsalem is beacon of hope and resistance.
