Ari Mackey-Williams is inspiring. She overcame two ACL reconstruction surgeries and embodies resilience, patience, determination and turning to God for the strength to endure. Ari has made huge contributions to @byuwbb on and off the court since the moment she stepped on campus.

Coming to BYU at the age of 18 from Ngati Porou, New Zealand, Ari has had to overcome many trials including homesickness and two ACL tears. But relying on her connections to her people, her relationship with her family, and her faith in God has allowed her to rise up.

In last night’s win, @byuwbb’s Sydney Benally set two freshman records. She started her 34th game, a new freshman record, and passed Shaylee Gonzales to become the program’s all-time freshman assist leader.
