1. My people good morning. I hope you had enough rest. Today weather sweet abi. Nice. You deserve good things. I want us to gist about the Good Friday service we shall have this evening. What and what will take place in it. Oyá bring chair 🪑.
2. Good Friday is the one day of the year when the Catholic Church does not actually celebrate Mass. It is a somber, quiet day focused entirely on the crucifixion of Jesus. During this service, men are not smiling.
3. The entrance is in silence. There is no entrance hymn. The priest and deacons walk in in total silence and prostrate themselves (lie face down on the floor). It’s a powerful, heavy moment that shows total humility and mourning. When they get to their seats, next thing is "Let us pray."
4. The liturgy of the word takes place which culminates in the Passion reading. After the reading, there are 10 Long Intercessions where the church prays for everyone, from the Pope to people of other faiths, and even people who don't believe in God at all. "Let us kneel. Let us stand." 😊
5. The next is the veneration of the cross. This is the most unique part of the day. A large wooden cross is brought into the church. The priest uncovers it in stages, singing "Behold the wood of the Cross" or "Ecce Lignum Crucis." Then, everyone comes forward one by one. People usually kiss the feet of Jesus on the cross, genuflect, or touch it as a sign of respect and gratitude. It’s very personal and often quite emotional.
6. Since there is no consecration (the part where the bread and wine become the Eucharist) on Good Friday, the church uses hosts that were set aside from the Holy Thursday service the night before. It is a simple, quiet Communion rite.
7. Once Communion is over, there is a final prayer, but no blessing and no dismissal. The priest simply leaves.
The altar is stripped completely bare.
The tabernacle (where the Eucharist is kept) is left open and empty. Everyone leaves in silence.
8. Because the story is not over yet, the liturgy doesn't end with a goodbye. It just pauses until the Easter Vigil on Saturday night.

Had a coursemate who played 800 odds and got 60M. Posted it on our class group chat and all and we congratulated him.
Manchester United were on a losing streak that period, and he wanted to turn 60M to 120M, so he played West Ham to win.
Man Utd beat West Ham 3-0.
