This is a bold stance to have but I don't think this theory is even necessary because we learn nothing new if it's true. We already know that Kris is siding with the knight, Ralsei does too, and who decided to deal the finishing blow to the party is pretty much irrelevant.

@AlexD57127366 @_VioMarks_ the knight is offscreen so that it cant take credit for the slash (admittedly that is a poor justification but nobody has a valid reason for it to move at all), and ralseis eyes in his sprite is facing *up*, and away from susies body, towards kris.

@austrianistecon @_VioMarks_ The knighting scene, along with a bunch of other ones, already characterizes Kris this way. The slash wasn't meant to be "surprising" but to show that the Knight was just playing along, and just how outmatched we are

@AlexD57127366 @_VioMarks_ its already established that its playing along by it doing 3000 damage to tenna and its attacks being dancing and slinging the sword, and "winning" being doing like a fifth of its HP. the "knight slash" is already unnecessary.

@austrianistecon @_VioMarks_ That's you treating the "how could you" as if it must indicate betrayal. If that's the case it's weird that's never brought up again. I always read it literally, as in Ralsei being surprised at the Knight's sheer power to do that so easily after being "defeated"

@AlexD57127366 @_VioMarks_ in fact i present the argument that it makes the game worse if it wasnt kris, because of the characterization they miss out on. if it was a slash from the knight (who isnt even in frame), it would be terribly stale and trite. "the slasher slashed. gee whiz!"

@AlexD57127366 @_VioMarks_ so the slasher is both someone who can inflict "swoon", which we dont know the conditions to inflict, and someone ralsei would be betrayed by. ergo it has to be kris.
