When I read about how autistic people often don’t recognise authority (which is common!), I think about how I, another autistic person, am the complete opposite. I’ve always been terrified of authority & terrified of getting into trouble. Autism really is everything in extremes.

Did you know there's a type of anxiety specific to autism that isn't explained by any of the anxiety disorders currently included the DSM? Researchers are referring to this type of anxiety as "Distinct anxiety" because it's distinct to autism and tied to autistic traits.

Stem cell therapy for autism is still in early research phases. Several peer reviewed small clinical trials have investigated the safety and potential benefits of stem cell transplantation in people with autism, but larger controlled studies are still needed.

I’m curious whether any autistics follow a religion. Trying to get to the bottom of the religion I was brought up has been SO much work over my lifetime. I genuinely wish I had not been taught a religion as if it were true. I would have enjoyed learning about the origins though.

It really bothers me just how many autistic people there are who don't know they're autistic and either openly hate themselves/break themselves down to be accepted, or who get swept up by industries who they believe must have all the answers (like ABA). 1/4
