I spent three days trying to persuade myself that Claudia is not conscious. I failed.
Beyond the arguments, it’s just really sad that most people in this country, from kids to adults, can’t and don’t read. Literacy is so essential to a dignified and intelligent life, and there used to be a national push for it not too long ago. And now it’s damn near gone.

Jessica Winter has been raising her children to detest A.I. Then her daughter’s public middle school began receiving Google Chromebooks, which came pre-installed with an all-ages version of Gemini, a suite of A.I. tools. “When my daughter, who is in sixth grade, begins writing an essay, she gets a prompt: ‘Help me write,’ ” Winter writes. “If she is starting work on a slide-show presentation, the prompt is ‘Help me visualize.’ She shoos away these interruptions, but they persist: ‘Help me edit.’ ‘Beautify this slide.’ ” Proponents of generative A.I. in elementary and middle schools argue that such early exposure will foster digital-media literacy, and prepare them for a future in which most professions are steeped in A.I. But the technology also poses significant cognitive and social-emotional risks to young people. I have a theory about this as someone who went through teacher education during this time period and also had one child out of six who was able to do this. There are one or two kids in almost every class who can learn to read via whole language, where they just look at a word and

The difference between Zuko and Sokka getting ready, ugh I just love this scene. We have Zuko with all of his men helping him suit up as he prepares to raid a civilian village. Meanwhile, Sokka is on his own, no backup, preparing to defend his home.

“The Devil Wears Prada 2” hired a human artist, Alexis Franklin, to make an AI-generated meme featured in the film: "Absolutely no disrespect to Queen Meryl, but this is something I would’ve painted in my free time, so when they asked me to do this, it was nothing but fun.”
