Ferrari has just officially unveiled its first ever all-electric car, called the Ferrari Luce. • Starting price: $640,000 • Interior co-designed with Apple's former head of design, Jony Ive • Range: 280 miles (expected EPA) • Peak charging speed: 350kW • 122 kWh battery • 1,050 horsepower • 0-60mph: 2.4s • 800v • Four-door four-seater • Four electric motors • OLED screens • Weight: 4,982 lbs • Front motors spin to 30,000 rpm, rears hit 25,500 rpm • Car uses an accelerometer to capture real vibrations from the electric motors & rear chassis. An algorithm filters out unpleasant frequencies and amplifies only the more “musical” sounds. This can be heard inside and outside the car. • Paddle shifter on steering wheel changes how aggressively torque is delivered, with five different levels • The trunk has 21.1 cubic feet of space, the largest luggage capacity the company has ever offered • 197.6 inches long, about as long as a Tesla Model S U.S. deliveries start in Q2 2027. You cannot suddenly direct like Spielberg just like you cannot suddenly decide to play like Michael Jordan. It's not a switch that you turn on like a video game level - not with the highly complex methodology he does. It doesn't even matter what Spielberg says because that's politics he's the master of that as well, which he seemed to be getting flack from the DGA for Poltergeist at the time. The proof is in the visual semantics and construction of the movie. You don't need someone to tell you Michael Jackson is singing a song, and you don't need for someone to tell you Spielberg is directing a movie.

I am a huge Spielberg nerd, and also a Tobe Hooper fan (especially Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2). So, knowing both styles in and out, I say this with full conviction and authority: Spielberg directed Poltergeist.

@AVARY Ive always seen it as him pointing at the dog Einstein. I mean, in the rest of the scene the kid keeps looking at and smiling at Einstein. The kids focus seems divided between Marty and the dog. Pointing at his dick seems like a weird stretch. But, whatever. lol

@bitfan2011 Gosh. Tough question. I'd probably start with The Hand and finish with Demon Seed. But then, I'd probably program The Hand with Demonoid if I could.

@AVARY Unrelated question for you - If you screened a double feature of The Hand and Demon Seed, which would you run first?

@AVARY Check my recent re-post about a guy who shows a short trailer to a AI project backed by a pulp fiction producer. I reposted it specifically for you to see. Have a good day!

F*ck AI from a filmmaker who built entire worlds using CGI, motion capture, digital compositing, virtual cameras, and enough render farms to heat a small country is peak cinema irony., He said it like AI personally stole his Oscar. Cinema people really love technology… right until the next generation gets access to it too. When rich studios use machines: innovation. future of storytelling. cinematic evolution. When independent creators use AI: destroying art. soulless. dangerous. Now AI scares people who built careers being impossible to compete with.

Perhaps had the film utilized AI in its production it would have been $20M instead of $80M and Gray would have been allowed control over his vision, though one has to wonder what the A-T-L was on Ad Astra. I hope we someday get to see Gray’s director’s cut.
Reel Updates@worldofreel

JAMES GRAY admits that AD ASTRA was “taken away” from him by 20th Century during post-production. “That film was taken away from me […] That’s not my cut of the movie. It would have been a very different movie.” tinyurl.com/48runn3d
