Marina Abramović Element Last night, I had the opportunity to attend the premiere of Marina Abramović Element (MAE) at London’s MOCO Museum, marking a major return to Web3 for the iconic performance artist. Developed in collaboration with @taex_com, the project spans a series of themed NFT drops: Art, Life, and Marina Abramović Method, rolling out from May to September. Each explores different aspects of Abramović’s creative evolution, from the archetypes in her performance work to her methods of self-discovery. The NFTs vary in format and rarity, including still images, looped animations, and a dynamic category that’s synced to real moon cycles. As the experience unfolds, the audience will engage in interactive moments that gradually unlock access to digital artworks and draw them deeper into the performance. The project culminates in November with The Great Mint, where collectors who’ve assembled specific NFT combinations will access the final and most valuable MAE artworks. Based on a fictional narrative written by the artist, MAE is a conceptual fusion of performance art’s ephemerality and digital art’s immateriality. “Creating my own avatar is a way to develop a new relationship between the performer and the public,” Abramović said. “The public’s interaction provides the process through which immateriality can be transformed into energy.” Whitelist now open: mae.taex.com/?utm_source=MA…
