NOBODY IS TELLING YOU HOW FUCKED THE SPIRIT AIRLINES SITUATION ACTUALLY IS RIGHT NOW. Everyone is watching Duffy's press conference. Nobody is connecting what the government actually did here. Here's what you need to understand: → Spirit was bleeding cash in 2022 — JetBlue offered $3,800,000,000 to save it → The Biden DOJ sued to block the deal in March 2023 — argued it would "raise prices for consumers" → A federal judge sided with the DOJ in January 2024 and killed the merger → Elizabeth Warren went on camera and called it a "Biden win for fliers" → JetBlue walked away in March 2024 and paid a $69,000,000 breakup fee just to escape → Spirit filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2024 → Spirit filed for bankruptcy AGAIN in August 2025 → The airline the government "protected" no longer exists They're showing you a Transportation Secretary losing his temper on camera. They're NOT showing you that the government blocked a $3,800,000,000 rescue deal to "protect competition" — and now there is no airline AND less competition. → Spirit is gone → JetBlue lost $69,000,000 in breakup fees → Every Spirit route is now either dead or absorbed by larger carriers → The price-sensitive travelers Warren claimed to protect have fewer options and higher fares The DOJ argued the merger would harm consumers. The merger dying harmed consumers. "History has judged the denial of the JetBlue-Spirit merger under Biden as a MASSIVE MISTAKE." That's not a political opponent saying it. That's the sitting Transportation Secretary. On the record. In public. It's a collapse. Many people will regret not following me sooner, trust me.

This is the shot you can’t get from the press site. This camera was sitting a few football fields from the SLS rocket at Pad 39B for days before launch, baking in the Florida sun, surviving rain, humidity, and whatever else the Cape threw at it. No photographer behind the viewfinder. Just a camera, a sound trigger, and a bet. The way pad remotes work: you set your camera up days in advance, dial in your composition, lock everything down, and walk away. You don’t touch it again until after the launch. The shutter fires on sound activation with a @MiopsTrigger smart+ trigger. With SLS, the four RS-25 engines ignite six seconds before the solid rocket boosters, so the camera is already firing before the vehicle even leaves the pad. You get home, pull the card, and find out if you nailed it or if a bird landed on your lens two days ago and left your a present and you got 400 photos of soemthing crappy. There’s no formula for protecting your gear this close. Some photographers build wooden boxes with doors that pop open. Some use plastic bags and tape. Some do plastic or metal barn door rigs on hinges. I tend to leave mine open just in plastic rain covers because boxes limit my composition and setup time, but that means your cameras are more exposed to the elements and whatever energy and debris comes off the pad. You’re basically gambling a camera body every time you set one. That’s what I love about this genre. There’s no playbook. You make it up as you go. Every time is an adventure. 📸 credit: me for @SuperclusterHQ - Artemis II pad remote | ~1,000 ft from Pad 39B | Kennedy Space Center

GLASGOW Fire damage to Central Station inspected Damage to Glasgow Central station caused by the huge fire has a been spotted as an inspection gets underway. But major structural damage appears to have been avoided. Cracks in the glass panelling above the station manager's office were apparent as workers began to tour the building on Monday to assess if it can reopen. The station - Scotland's busiest - has been shut since the Sunday night fire which tore through the Victorian building on Union Street. Following a full site assessment, Glasgow Central Low Level Station has reopened for a few train services. However, because of the high level of instability of the building façade on Gordon Street, and the required building assessment work that needs to be undertaken, Glasgow Central High Level station will not reopen this week. Until the Scottish Fire and Rescue Services, and Glasgow City Council, complete their work to determine the safety of the Union Corner site, the station's team won't be able to undertake the structural assessment work needed to determine if there has been any damage to the station. Vape shop owner moves to avoid enquiry The company which owned the vape shop where the fire devastated the Union Street building it shared changed its registered address a day after being visited by The Herald newspaper. Junaid Retail Ltd, trading as Scot's World, was the occupier of 105 Union Street from August 1, 2024 with Ali Ahsan as its sole director from 23 July 2025 onward. The property is one of several neighbouring premises owned by Afton Estates Ltd, which purchased the block for £540,000 in 2008. The landlord's directors are Michael and Kenna Tasker. In its last set of accounts the company listed net assets of more than £10 million. Exclusive: Josh Pizzuto-Pomaco and Gabriel McKay - Herald, 11 March. As widely reported, the shop which occupied the premises was not licenced to sell vapes and failed to pay close to £10,000 in business rates. Police enquiries are in process.

Glasgow Central will remain closed at least into Tuesday, while @fire_scot work to contain the fire on Union Street and make the area safe. Once that’s complete, our team need to inspect the station itself for any damage. As soon as we can share more news on timescales, we will.

🚨 This is a bold move by the UAE 🇦🇪 The United Arab Emirates will fully cover the expenses of around 20,200 passengers who were stranded, including accommodation, meals, and rebooking arrangements, amid flight disruptions caused by the ongoing regional tensions and airspace closures. Kudos to the UAE 🇦🇪 khaleejtimes.com/uae/uae-airpor…
