@mark_flemdog @TheGodfatherUk @KieranMaguire I don’t want to see any club go under. My club has been there and I’m fully aware that Wednesday supported us at the time. My point was more general. The rule needs to be black and white or it may as well be scrapped.

Sheffield Wednesday were (correctly IMO) not given a points deduction for exiting administration and giving all unsecured creditors 25p in the £ on the grounds that Chansiri was difficult to deal with and harsh to punish new owners. West Brom were given a 2 points deduction as PSR rules seems more inflexible despite major contributing factor was interest rate on a loan taken out by former owner Guochan Lai, even though he too was difficult to deal with but new owners were punished.

@smith_john37671 @mark_flemdog @KieranMaguire So my original post is right then? You either enforce the same rules for all, or scrap the rule. Every time it’s not enforced it opens the door to abuse and legal challenges as precedents have been set.

@mark_flemdog @TheGodfatherUk @KieranMaguire It’s pointless then. Every club will come up with some reason why they shouldn’t be deducted, and if they fail to overturn it they’ll go legal and cite Wednesday and Derby as a precedent.

@avnorm @TheGodfatherUk @KieranMaguire And you do know we were one of the clubs to vote against your punishment? It's not a "rule" its a guideline, and clearly says discretion can be used in extreme circumstances. You don't get any more extrem than our ex owner. Derby's breach was also far bigger than ours

@mark_flemdog @TheGodfatherUk @KieranMaguire What state is that? Secured another season in the PL with 3 games to go, manageable debt and wealthy backers. Sounds a right mess. And we got here after a 10pt deduction relegated us to L1 and we started that season on -15.

@TheGodfatherUk @mark_flemdog @KieranMaguire We took the punishment including the extra 15 points. No special circumstances, in fact the league let the other clubs decide our punishment for them. Still doesn’t change my original point. You let one club off and you might as well scrap the rule

@avnorm @mark_flemdog @KieranMaguire Rules also said you should run a club responsibly but you ended up in administration due to a in part lunatic fan base and a crazy peer pressured owner.......just saying

@mark_flemdog @KieranMaguire If the rules say you have to pay 25p/£ or it’s a 15pt deduction, and you don’t pay 25p/£ then it should be a 15pt deduction. Just because you were relegated shouldn’t mean you just write off any further punishment.

@avnorm @KieranMaguire Explain how we've been "let off". The punishment we received effectively relegated us. I'd say that is pretty severe punishment.

🚨Well, after visiting The United Kingdom 8 or 9 times in the last 2 years and participating in the very peaceful and patriotic Unite The Kingdom events with my good friend @TRobinsonNewEra I have now been denied entry into the country. I have never participated in any violence nor have I incited any violence. I have never been involved in any criminal activity in my life in Britain or any other country. The only thing I’ve ever done is associate with Tommy Robinson and speak up for the forgotten people of Great Britain — people who have been crushed and victimized by a tyrannical Leftist regime. So to President @realDonaldTrump and @VP JD Vance just know that when the soon to be ex Prime Minister Keir Starmer sat in the Oval Office and told you both Britain has free speech that he lied to your faces. My apologies to the great @danwootton. I was very much looking forward to hosting your live show at the UTK march.

@henrywinter I’m sure they’ll manage it. This is a club that had Rupert Lowe as Chairman and they still managed to rebuild their reputation. Anything is possible after that.

Southampton have always been a club that did things the right way. Attractive football, long history, loyal and vocal support, important community department, good atmosphere at the Dell and St Mary’s, develop talent, even a great cat at the training ground. A sound club. A touch of class. So as they head to Wembley, and deservedly so as they were better than Boro on the night, perhaps those who run the club and run the football side consider how to restore the club’s reputation.  Because a club who many neutrals had a soft spot for risk becoming hard to like. Some Southampton fans will not worry about what others think of them. But they should. They are currently associated with cheating - Spygate - and for allegations of discriminatory language on the pitch (which have yet to be proven). That’s not what Southampton are about.  Their head coach, Tonda Eckert, rightly earned plenty of praise for his inspirational work this season but risks coming across as charmless at times. Interesting that Boro’s coach, Kim Hellberg, in his Sky Sports interview, congratulated Southampton players and supporters but not their coach. Southampton have gained a shot at the Premier League - any Spygate sanctions permitting - but lost some respect. Saints’ board and Eckert now have to work out how to restore that good reputation. And pray that the independent disciplinary commission does not punish them severely and swiftly for Spygate. As many people want them to. #SaintsFC #SOUMID

@diego_2llorente @RealBetis They’re just words mate. You showed absolutely no “strength to fight” when Leeds were relegated. You and Roca were off. At least Firpo had the balls and stayed “until the end”.

@Brockutd Oh well, never mind. I understand that Man U fans are probably a bit embarrassed that they were beaten by the little club that they sing about every week, but the game’s over now. On to Wolves.

🚨 Mark Clattenburg on Lisandro Martínez’s red card: “I was surprised that such an experienced referee considered this a red card offence. It was clearly a 50/50 challenge for the ball. I think the referee’s seniority within the VAR group may have made others hesitant to overturn his on-field decision. In my opinion, this was a clear mistake. When we talk about ‘clear and obvious errors’, most referees would not have sent him off for that challenge.”

🚨 Rio Ferdinand on VAR: “Since when did this game get so biased? For the first goal, Calvert-Lewin doesn’t even try to head it. He uses his hand on Yoro, Yoro misheads it, they score. No review. Then with Martinez, both go for the ball. Play continues, no one reacts… but someone is checking it for a red. At this point, it’s United against them. Even if United score… you feel like they’ll find a way to rule it out.”

The breakfasts are not free. They are paid for by taxes - mostly on parents who feed their own kids. Most of these 10,000 children would have had a perfectly healthy breakfast at home without these clubs. This isn't about helping the poorest kids, it's the state taking over the basic job of parenting.
Angela Rayner@AngelaRayner

My pleasure to welcome @Keir_Starmer @AndyBurnhamGM and @bphillipsonMP to Holy Trinity primary school in Ashton this morning. 33 new free breakfast clubs will open across Greater Manchester this week, giving 10,000 more children a free, healthy start to the school day. That’s Labour on your side. 🌹
