All uniform forces are Brother in Arms irrespective of their shoulder batches or insignias. I always feel fortunate to be the part of the community. All CAPFs, State Polices, Intelligence, Investigation & research agencies bleed KHAKI ! We share a code to protect nation & our partners irrespective of where we are posted, whether we are wearing uniform or not. Once you join any force, you are a part of this community. I feel we should be compassionate towards each other and rather responsible for the welfare of our junior ranks. I feel that no one has any monopoly over sacrifices or hardships. As a matter of fact, we were taught by our Ustad (from CAPF only) that “Saab, Aap dusre ko shabashi denge toh wahi ghumake camaraderie ke roop mein aati hai” Let’s make an effort to resolve the issues of our junior ranks and refrain from any narrative building & negativity 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Jai Hind 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 @anandmishraips Sir @ips_mridul @akashtomarips @IPS_Association @lrbishnoiips Sir

Very well said Madam, These are very valid and important service matters which needs to be addressed without any delay. We are with all the CAPF ranks in this fight for streamlining service matters 👍🏻 The only problem came when the paid PR firms and their trolls made this fight into #IPSvsCAPFACs which must have made the whole leadership apprehensive about the real motive behind the narrative. Finally how many AIS officers in total must be there in CAPF as per constitutionally given mandated tasks ? The vested interest groups have caused more harm and help while sabotaging whole issue and making it political and egoistic issue. Many retd officers have indulged into mud sledging on IPS officers for no reason (must be due to advice of some immature SM Consultants) We are with the families of all Police Personnel irrespective of Force, Ministry or State bcz you guys ensure Border and Streets remain safe for us 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 @crpfindia @BSF_India @SSB_INDIA @ITBP_official @CISFHQrs @IPS_Association

Let’s talk logic. If an IPS officer is considered an "outsider" in a security force, then every IAS officer is an outsider in the Ministry of Finance, Science & Technology, or Power. If a Band Gala can lead the Ministry of Science & Technology without being a scientist, why is the Khaki labeled an outsider in a security force? If "years on the ground" were the only criterion for leadership, the oldest sailor would be the Admiral and the longest-serving clerk would be the Cabinet Secretary. Leadership is a specialized skill, not a seniority prize. The IPS is indispensable because it speaks the languages of the MHA, the Judiciary, and the State Police fluently. Without this bridge, any security ecosystem becomes an island. The IPS ensures that the "boots on the ground" have the strategic, political, and legal cover they need to do their jobs effectively. This system has been working seamlessly since Day 1 because the IPS Bridge works. It is the strategic glue of our internal security infrastructure. Now, suddenly, there’s a "leadership crisis"? Please. This is an Aspirational Issue, not a Professional one. Don’t confuse "I want the chair" with "The chair is broken." Our security architecture isn't a career ladder for personal milestones; it’s a shield for 1.4 billion people. Inter-service camaraderie shouldn't be the collateral damage of a mid-life career crisis. We are here to protect the borders and the streets, not to build personal empires. Mission over Ego. Always. 🇮🇳 #IPS #IAS #CAPF #InternalSecurity #Governance #NationFirst #CAPFBill @PMOIndia @HMOIndia @IASassociation @IPS_Association @DoPTGoI @BJP4India

THE SKIN DOCTOR
THE SKIN DOCTOR@theskindoctor13·
Saw a few tweets about the new CAPF Bill and the controversy around it, so decided to read up on it. In short, yet another pointless controversy over a solid reform. The face of this legal-media opposition is Sarvesh Tripathi, projected as an ex-CRPF officer and lawyer, but what’s not told explicitly is that he’s also a Samajwadi Party national spokesperson and runs a CAPF coaching institute. A clear conflict of interest. 1. First, why the Bill is good: Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) comprise seven forces like CRPF, ITBP, and BSF under the Home Ministry. Earlier, each followed scattered rules and ad hoc orders, causing confusion, inconsistency, and poor transparency. The CAPF (General Administration) Bill, 2026 introduces, for the first time, a single legal framework for over 10 lakh personnel. It replaces fragmentation with a uniform system for recruitment, promotions, discipline, and operations, making governance clearer, more transparent, and efficient. It also improves coordination during riots, border tensions, and internal security operations, while addressing career stagnation through better promotion avenues. The Bill further aims to improve working conditions, rationalise postings, and bring greater clarity and stability for personnel in demanding roles. 2. Now the controversy: Opposition is from the few ex-CAPF officers (not jawans), supported and encouraged by Congress allies, over IPS officers holding top CAPF posts. They demand only CAPF officers controlling CAPF, no IPS. However, CAPF’s job is a blend of civil policing (a state subject) and paramilitary roles (central), where IPS officers are needed as the Centre–state bridge. This deputation is necessary for Union–State coordination, and this model has delivered results, from Greyhounds (1989) to CoBRA (2008); it has seen significant operational success. In fact, this integrated structure is a major reason why Naxalism, once a massive internal security threat across large parts of India, has been systematically crushed and reduced to a shadow of its former self. Even if one argues for replacing IPS with CAPF cadre officers, it cannot be done overnight; a sudden shift would disrupt law and order, administration, and federal balance. Even the SC has emphasised a gradual transition, not abrupt replacement. The Bill reflects this by reducing IPS presence from near total dominance to ~20% at DIG and ~50% at IG levels. In essence, the Bill seeks to make CAPFs more organised, fair, and future-ready for faster, more effective responses. The controversy around it is less about reform and more about control, politicised support amplifying selective concerns, where structural change is being resisted under the guise of cadre justice.
