Crucially, at that point, there is a discontinuity between a straight element and a curved element. The effect becomes even more pronounced as the aspect ratio between the width and the height of the rectangle increases. Look at the points I didn’t circle. See it?

Consider the round rectangle (roundrect), a four-sided figure with rounded off corners. They are often used in user interface designs… but they have a built-in aesthetic glitch which I’ll describe later. First, to make one.

@samanbb Right there with you :( finished drafting up “cat pushing a cart in a supermarket stocked with canned tuna, 1980s hotel art” just to hit the rate limit last night.

Dream feature set: - shareable - allows test setup code (ideally a unqiue setup per scenario for comparing entire solutions) - can import npm modules

Anybody have a javascript microbenchmarking online tool they enjoy using? There seems to be a few out there, but I am interested to see if anybody has had a recent positive experience they would like to share :)

@sebmarkbage Do you mind explaining why or sharing a link? I’m using renderToString client-side to render SVGs for export. Very different use case than regex, of course. Is the issue a matter of redundancy with browser APIs and bundle size?

@bjhomer This is fascinating! Check out how iOS Calendar treats this in year view vs. month view.

Side note: Day One’s calendar is smart, and knows about these 10 missing days!

Javascript and Swift apparently disagree about when January 1, 1 AD was. (Both numbers in milliseconds-since-1970) JS: -62135596800000 Swift: -62135769600000 These two numbers are exactly 48 hours apart. Can anyone explain what’s going on here?

@steveruizok “Podes”. I often forget folks don’t usually call them that, but no one has asked what it means either. Seems natural to me

@bruvgr Something I’d love to see in the API to this effect would be “component-scoped utils”. E.g. define a function local to the style object for a component rather than defining it on the config object shared across all components. Maybe even override them in individual variants!

We are building a calendar. So we render a lot of Calendar events :) I'd like to render kind "<CalendarEvent eventColor="#E56B6F"/> And then use eventColor in Stitches in multiple places. Right now I pass it as a css variable using the css prop

@stitchesjs is the most refreshing approach to css styling in React I've seen in a long time. Rewriting the next version of @hera_hq with it and having tokens as first-class citizens is mind blowing 🤯 Also, @radix_ui color palette is saving me hours of trying to be a designer

@tmcw Not sure which specific tools you’re using in there, but Immer can produce “inverse” patches. #producewithpatches" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">immerjs.github.io/immer/patches#…
