Bengal voters saw Uttar Pradesh, Assam and other BJP-ruled states. Read the reports on hate crimes, communalism and safety and still backed the BJP. Unbelievable how people dig their own grave.

@ShawnBinda This isn't civilisation changing organically, it's being forced upon us by powerful corporate interests lobbying governments for cheap labor. Asian economies have grown purely out of exploitation.

Comments on this hilarious. We have such a narrow view of history that the ethno-nationalists seem to forget that the majority of the global GDP was driven by 'Asia'. The last 200 years of western domination was not the global norm and some might argue this is a return to the mean. That being said, civilizations continue to change and learn from each other. Western Civilizations have their pros and cons. What we need to stop is trying to pit groups against each other and figure out how we live together on this planet.

“Amit Shah is a gunda. Gundami is in his blood. He is filthy. He is a billi (cat). He plotted TMC’s end sitting here for 15 days. Come here, we will hang you upside down!” ~ TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee froths at the mouth while effectively accepting defeat.

@ShawnBinda Most Indians themselves don't understand the important social work that RSS does. But it's interesting that this conversation has started among North Americans.

@kushal_mehra But pointing that out will bring the "inteleksuals" out from the woodwork who would explain how this is "kalchar" of the state.

@kushal_mehra True. For now though, since people are more comfortable consuming YouTube content as compared to books, RW is still able to deliver its intended message to the youth even though it doesn't have enough academia capital at the moment. And that's reflecting in the election results.

I'm not discounting any of this. I am largely someone who thinks most people are under read and over opinionated. But then the same me also observes the so called RW winning election after election and even in the educated youth the BJP gets the highest vote. Infact the more educated you the more likely you are to vote for the BJP. So the left wing scholarship is so good that their entire class of tier 2 and tier 3 folks just creates BJP voters.
