@Lucia_uiu You go look like small Satan for her eyes now

My mum knows how much I hate our extended family meetings, so she begged me to come since I was around. Yesterday, we all gathered at my father's house because he is the eldest.
One of my cousins then complained about his wife refusing to contribute to the household.
He said, "She earns over 400k every month, yet she has never contributed a dime to the running of the house. Even when my business had setbacks and I was struggling financially, she just watched me suffer. When I asked her to help a little, she told me that providing is the responsibility of a man and that I should stop looking at her money.
"I later checked her phone and discovered she has been sending money to her siblings regularly. She practically put them on a monthly salary while her own household is falling apart. I am not asking her to carry the whole burden, but a little support would go a long way. I am honestly getting tired."
After everyone had shared their opinion, one of my uncles asked me for mine. I declined, but he insisted.
So I looked at my cousin, gave him a signal, and then turned to his wife.
"Madam, it is obvious you want to frustrate my brother before his time, and I will not sit back and watch it happen."
Then I turned to my cousin and said, "Dede, do you remember Adaugo from uni? She is still single, 27, and doing very well for herself. Should I arrange a meeting for both of you?"
He looked confused but played along.
I continued, "She is in town for her brother's wedding this weekend, so I can easily link both of you up."
At that point, everybody was confused.
My dad asked, "Amaka, what are you doing?"
I replied, "Dad, I am giving my opinion. It is obvious this woman is tired of the marriage already, so Dede should just divorce her and marry Adaugo if it works out. It is even a good thing they do not have children yet."

How many more communities must mourn before action is taken?
Nigeria cannot normalize this violence.

Today, we stood at the gates of the National Assembly as citizens demanding immediate action.
Our request is simple:
- Pass the Electoral Amendment Bill.
- Guarantee mandatory real-time electronic transmission of results.
Democracy must be protected from the polling unit to the final collation centre.
We must strengthen the law and protect our votes.
The movement continues✊.

We have seen disputed results.
We have seen court battles.
We have seen trust in democracy weaken.
Real-time transmission is about transparency.
It is about safeguarding the will of the people.
Our democracy must not be weakened by loopholes.

We are deeply concerned by the arrest and swift arraignment of Hassan Taiwo Soweto.
Protest and civic engagement is not a crime. Speaking up for justice must never be treated as an offense. #FreeSoweto✊🏿
