@DavidKPiano was never a fan of openclaw hype, loop engineering stuff. currently in my small mind constraints are key thats why the best human in the loop wins and state machines help author that human in loop structure

I use @OpenSpec_ and when you start learning it first get the concepts first it would go a long way in helping

@supabase Verifying that ai generated logic is done correctly. AI has many ways to generate logic. But only humans can verify that it did it correctly.

What's one thing AI still can't do and you have to by hand?

@CliftonSellers What am doing at fabase humans own the domain logic the should easily be able to check and verify the logical and critical thinking of these AI generated solutions I love to call it copilots

Daily reminder to not outsource your critical thinking to AI (no matter how powerful the model is)

@DavidKPiano @ThePrimeagen exactly knowing the domain logic is even more important, llm powers are unlimited, it also has unlimited ways move off the rails from what you are building. 1 + 1 = 2; but there are situations where you want 1 + 1 = 11; you knowing the domain logic is the only way to steer it

@ThePrimeagen This will always be true and I'm sick of the "oh but we don't read assembly anymore" arguments; it's not the same thing. Knowing the domain logic will always be important

I find that is you are going to generate a bunch of code, knowing the interfaces, structs, and functions will lead to much better outcomes. Being the bottleneck is ok, your ideas are not that great.

AI coding is creating a new problem: people can generate apps fast, but they do not always understand the architecture, permissions, flows, data model, edge cases, or failure paths. Recent AI agent discussion is moving from one shot prompting toward autonomous “loops” where agents act, test, and revise repeatedly. that makes visibility and control more important, not less

@jayyeh I'm building Fabase.co to significantly change how AI apps built, debug, edit and verified using visual techniques with backing of high performance code. challenging the like of lovable and replit. they are more of prompt to code

most of what lands in my DMs is noise founders looking for shortcuts. wanting intros before they've earned them. chasing capital before their company deserves it. i try to help everyone. but i'm honest about what they actually need. about 5% of the founders i work with are different. deeply technical. don't wing it. want to fully understand before they move. those are the ones i get behind. not because they're the most polished. because they're the most committed to figuring it out. capital follows that. it always has.

@jayyeh for example when fabase app builder generates this crop tracker app. it ensures for that the states of crop growth process is in statecharts/state machine the domain expert can visually see the different states crop growth edit/simulate the logic

@jayyeh statemachines, drakon, and node based flows combine to not only give domain experts clear understanding of what ai logic it's generating for there apps but the can see state and logic flow, even simulate it to verify that there app domain logic is correct
