People have different political beliefs. I respect that. People have different religious beliefs and cultural norms. I respect that. People even have differing understanding of “facts” and “truths” based on the media they consume and the social environment they immerse themselves in. That troubles me but I understand why it happens. (Oh how I wish we could get back to the days of having honest civil debates and common truths but that is a rant for another time), I respect and understand these things because I believe that, at our core, we are united in a common morality – a belief in decency, honesty and justice. A desire to treat our fellow human beings with the dignity and respect for which they were endowed by their creator (whomever they might believe that is). A world where we may not like each other but, to maintain peace and for the greater good, we all agree to play by the rules. And then I witness something so ugly and vindictive that it shatters my belief in this common tenet. I see that, either through a willful ignorance or malicious intent, people not only abandon - but gleefully smash- even their own moral construct. “Well, we know that this trial didn't adhere to our time honored traditions - including the right to a public trial without unnecessary delay, the right to a judge that promotes public confidence in the integrity of the judiciary, the right to an impartial jury, and the right to know the nature of the charges against you - but he is a despicable man so it's ok” They gleefully torch all this, in pursuit of destroying a man for whom they have an immense (and, in my opinion, irrational) hatred for. I see that they will not be content until they destroy not only the man but his family and any and all that dare express any type of support for him. I see that it won't stop with this man and his followers. Sadly they don't realize that they are feeding a beast that delights in destruction. A beast that will not stop until it destroys even themselves. This is when I get to a line I cannot cross. This is my Rubicon. This is when I need to retreat from pleasant, frivolous interactions with those outside my “tribe” and retreat into a more prayerful life. Into a world where the Sacred Heart of Jesus recognizes us all as sinners yet still welcomes us with open arms. Where all we need to do is accept that He has dominion over our lives. A place where I can pray for everyone including the misguided and, yes, even my enemies. Where I can pray for God to have mercy on me and the whole world. A place where true, lasting joy and happiness is found. A place where we know with absolute confidence that God will indeed win this worldly war we are now engaging in.

You never address the words “and subject to the jurisdiction thereof” It’s amazing what you can declare “clear” in the Constitution when you omit language you don’t like
Senator Tim Kaine@SenTimKaine

Our Constitution is clear—no matter who your parents are or where they are from, if you are born here, you are an American. Citing white supremacists in an effort to overturn birthright citizenship tells you everything you need to know. I hope SCOTUS will reject this bid.

You married a naturalized citizen to obtain your green card and then drove that woman to take her life by downing an entire bottle of anti-depressants. You then used your legal status to open a biolab in New Jersey where you tortured and killed innocent animals while defrauding investors. You should be denaturalized, deported, and your entire lineage banned from ever setting foot in America.
Congressman Shri Thanedar@RepShriThanedar

As an immigrant myself, today's arguments on birthright citizenship are deeply personal to me. The 14th Amendment is clear: the children of immigrants are guaranteed US citizenship. Despite President Trump's wishes, he cannot rewrite the Constitution.

@04e2acc155aa484 @willchamberlain @RandyEBarnett So you think that a woman who is a member of the Communist Party in China can fly to the US days, away from her due date, have the baby and leave a week later with US citizenship for her child?

Hugely important op-ed in the WSJ. One of the most respected originalist legal thinkers in the country @RandyEBarnett takes to the pages of the Wall Street Journal to explain that: Trump Is Right on Birthright Citizenship wsj.com/opinion/trump-…

🚨 HOLY CRAP!! A Palm Beach elections office volunteer just got arrested for STEALING an encrypted access key and computer equipment in the March 24 special election where the Democrat won by 800 votes This is the district the includes Mar-a-Lago. Investigators worry that the encryption — used for training — could be reverse engineered and used to tamper with voter registration The theft was reported on March 27, a few days after last Tuesday's special election, per WPTV. The theft occurred on March 19, just days before election day "During the search of [John] Panicci's home, detectives recovered the stolen items along with a substantial amount of electronic and digital storage devices. Panicci was transported to the Palm Beach County Jail and booked on charges." Election integrity is vital to our republic. If it's happening in Florida — IT'S HAPPENING NATIONWIDE

Hello, Mr. Desiderio, Punchbowl News sells access to Capitol Hill for corporate clients. Their senior Senate reporter is you, Andrew Desiderio. Here's how the access works: Punchbowl has a weekly show called "Fly Out Day," taped at the Punchbowl News Townhouse and described on their own site as an "exclusive first look" for Premium subscribers. Those Premium subscribers are the K Street corporate government affairs staff and trade association officials whose legislative interests depend on what Senate leadership decides to schedule… or kill. The second-ever guest was Senate Majority Leader John Thune, on September 11, 2025. This is documented in your own webste. Now let’s go over your post carefully. You say Mike Lee "primed the GOP base to believe" something. That’s manipulative framing, the language of a man working a crowd. But Thune "pointed out" something. That’s the language of a man correcting the record, establishing fact. This is not a one-off phrasing choice on your part. Your Punchbowl coverage consistently frames Thune's positions as institutional reality and conservative alternatives as base management. Thune "declared" that the talking filibuster is dead. Lee and his allies "captivated Trump's base." Thune "had enough." The SAVE Act push is "a self-inflicted wound." These are not neutral verbs. They are a point of view… and it's Thune's point of view, delivered with a byline. There's a structural reason this happens. Jake Sherman described Punchbowl's business model in his own words on The Rebooting podcast (January 2022): nearly 90% of the outlet's revenue comes from corporate sponsorships… "trade groups and companies looking to get their public affairs messaging in front of those making public policy." The sponsors documented at Punchbowl include PhRMA, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Facebook, JPMorgan, Blackstone, the American Investment Council (private equity lobby), and others. These sponsors need the goodwill of the Senate Majority Leader, who controls which of their legislative priorities come to the floor. Thune controls the floor. Thune sits in Punchbowl's townhouse. You reports Thune's framing as conventional wisdom. When Desiderio writes that the talking filibuster "will ultimately fail" ... not might fail, not Thune argues it will fail, but when it ultimately fails ... is that journalism? Or is it the view from Thune's Fly Out Day chair? You are busted, Mr. Desiderio.

As another man who once worked with me declares himself saddened by my beliefs on gender and sex, I thought it might be useful to compile a list for handy reference. Which of the following do you imagine makes actors and directors who aren’t involved with the HBO reboot of Harry Potter so miserable? Is it my belief that women and girls should have their own public changing rooms and bathrooms? That women should retain female-only rape crisis centres? That men don’t belong in women’s sport? That female prisoners shouldn’t be incarcerated with violent men and male sex offenders? That women should remain a protected class in law, because they have sex-specific needs and issues? That language should reflect reality rather than ideological jargon, especially in a medical context? That women shouldn’t be harassed, persecuted or fired for refusing to pretend humans can change sex? That women should not be threatened with violence and rape when they assert their rights? That freedom of speech and belief are essential to a pluralistic democratic society? That troubled minors, especially those who are gay, autistic and trauma-experienced, should be given mental health support instead of irreversible surgeries and drug treatments on non-existent evidence of benefit? That gay people shouldn’t be pressured to include the opposite sex in their dating pools, nor should they be smeared as ‘genital fetishists’ when they don’t? That cross-dressing heterosexual male fetishists aren’t actually oppressed, but having the time of their lives piggybacking off gender identity ideology? That said ideology, and the privileged, blinkered fools pushing it because they suffer zero consequences themselves, have done more damage to the political left’s credibility than Trump and Farage could have achieved in a century? Let me have your thoughts.
