13 players have double digits at bats for @TexasTechSB and EVERY Red Raider who has taken 60+ AB is hitting over .345 this season.
How is this possible?
Gerry Glasco has used 31 different lineups in 37 different games this season. After using 57 different lineups in 68 different games in 2025.
You have to stay ready to go at all times, because it may just be your day to be in the lineup.
Overprotected kids become unprepared adults.
Dawn Staley nailed it.🔥
You can’t shelter your child from every hard moment and then expect them to handle adversity when it counts.
Hard is the lesson.

Ocean View Softball Clinic
Couple weeks ago I hosted a free clinic for young girls down in Puerto Pensaco, Mexico. I had so much fun teaching them fundamentals, advising them on their softball journey, while making new friendships. @knross32@AZStorm_Downes
Student Athlete, “I’m always sore and tired. I can’t figure out why.”
Me, “Your nutrition consists of Chick-fil-A , protein bars, Celsius, zero fruits and veggies, no breakfast and you’re up till midnight most nights per your intake forms.”
Athlete, “It’s hard to eat meals, I’m up late because I have school work.”
Me, “Show me your screen time from this week? You’re averaging 5 hours on TikTok alone.
Why can’t you replace screen time with school work so you can get the sleep you need to gain the energy you don’t have to get stronger like you said you wanted?
Additionally, why aren’t you eating the 3-5 meals we discussed with the fruits, veggies and proteins you agreed to consume when you set your goals this year? You would be less sore if you had more nutrients in your body especially around training!”
Athlete 🦗🦗
This applies to adults too. You HAVE time for what you prioritize.
There’s 168 hours in a week.
You have time for meal prep and homework if you log off social media.
You have time to sleep 7-9 hours if you put down your phone and set your schedule.
Your focus and habits in youth dictate your direction in life and position as an adult. You won’t be a student athlete forever.
Make healthy choices NOW!
You know I’m right 💪

There’s a hard truth in recruiting that athletes and families need to understand:
Showing up somewhere doesn’t automatically mean you’re being evaluated.
Camps can be incredible opportunities — but only when there is mutual interest.
If a staff hasn’t communicated with you…
If they haven’t responded to your emails…
If they haven’t asked you to attend…
If they haven’t engaged with your updates…
You have to pause and ask:
Am I going where I’m wanted — or am I just hoping to be noticed?
Recruiting is not about chasing logos.
It’s about building relationships.
The athletes who get recruited consistently are the ones who:
• Communicate before they attend
• Send film and measurable updates
• Ask where they stand on the board
• Confirm the staff is actually looking at their position and grad year
• Follow up after camps with clarity
Go where there is communication.
Go where coaches reply.
Go where they ask questions.
Go where they invite you.
Interest is a two-way street.
Your time, money, and energy matter. Be intentional with them.
Don’t just show up.
Show up where you are valued.
Being snowed/iced in would be a GREAT time to work on your recruiting 🤔
For all those “too busy” kids…you’ve had DAYSSSSS to work on your priorities 💯
We make time for what’s important‼️
They’ll find a way or keep finding excuses…
