🚨let me tell you why Iran just closed the Strait of Hormuz again because most people have no idea what happened today..
this morning the deal was simple.. stop the war.. reopen the strait.. let oil flow.. Iran did its part.. oil dropped 16%..
but Iran had one condition that mattered more than anything.. Lebanon must be included in the ceasefire.. it was point one in their 10-point plan.. Trump called it "workable"..
hours later Israel bombed Beirut and Tyre.. Netanyahu said "this is not the end of the battle".. Trump confirmed Lebanon was never in the deal.. and Iran's parliament announced 3 out of 10 clauses were already violated..
so here's what actually happened.. Iran was told the deal covers Lebanon.. opened the strait based on that understanding.. then watched Lebanon get bombed while the White House said it was never covered..
Iran didn't break the ceasefire.. the ceasefire was broken around them.. and the strait is the only leverage they have to prove it matters..
20% of the world's oil is being turned on and off like a game.. running the worl like a school project..
people are dying in Beirut.. markets are swinging billions by the hour.. and the people in charge can't even agree on what they signed this morning..

the KEY to a less lonely life is to figure out which one you're missing...

these are the people you don't have to explain yourself around. they're familiar. you feel most yourself around them. there's a type of loving understanding that comes in their presence - they've probably known you for a while, there's shared history, which creates a natural ease.
do stuff friends
people to DO stuff with - hiking, sports, classes, hobbies. they might not even know that much about you - but you have fun together and bond over shared experiences. they probably live near you and you may see them frequently. you find connection through doing, not just talking.
deep talk friends
people who are more in-the-know about your day to day challenges. you share openly with them. you may see the world similarly. they are values-aligned with the current version of you. these are the people who know you as you are TODAY, not just who you once were.
ambient connection
this one's underrated - the feeling that humans are ambiently around you. from smiling at the barista to chatting with a stranger in the grocery store line. remote workers may be particularly prone to lacking this. knowing you're part of this ambient human energy at all moments.

i actually think “surface-level” friendships are very healthy. not everyone in your life has to be your ride-or-die. some friends are for the gym. some friends are for church. some are just for complaining about work or bureaucracy. when you stop expecting everyone to be your everything, the disappointment disappears. the deep conversations are for the 2–3 people closest to you.

France made this wastefulness illegal cause it’s cruel and only causes more waste issues. Any food market or restaurant over 400 square meters has to donate all their good unsold food to charities and are fined if they do anything like this. That law should be applied everywhere
