@Jondaphemp @TheMuppetPastor I could be wrong, I’m just throwing this out there. But my Bible says in Genesis 1:1 that God created the heavens and the earth. He didn’t create light (aka the first day) until Genesis 1:3. So how much time passed between the earth being created and the first day?

@TheMuppetPastor 1/ Moses used: “evening and morning, the X day” (six times). That structure is in the ancient text itself. It’s not us demanding lab reports—it’s Moses being unusually precise in a way that screams chronological sequence.

This is something I VERY STRONGLY disagree on. Moses wrote Genesis. Moses was very very precise Evening/morning/number/day over and over. You are faced with 2 options. God who spoke to Moses, lied. You, who have not spoken to God face to face as with a friend know better.

This was deemed a no goal, even though you can see the puck in the webbing, and logically it’s in. They couldn’t 100% say.

Still think it’s probably in, but it was MUCH closer than people are letting on. Too close that I would say you absolutely need to see the white. Crazier when you look at it this way.

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

@VigilantFox @elonmusk We’re going to get much worse than a lack of purpose. We’re going to get people finding purpose in crime. Theirs a reason why the mafia refers to themselves as family. There’s the old saying “idle hands are the devils workshop.”

I respectfully disagree. It doesn’t address the sense of purpose issue. A lot of people go to work every day feeling needed. Like they matter. Take that away, and all you’re left with is unlimited free time, meaning more Netflix, video games, and consumption of X-rated content over doing something productive. I love my free time when I get it, but if I don’t work for it, I don’t appreciate it. Too much free time without any structure might not be the best thing for humanity.

So this is a fun topic. My Amish neighbors can quote Paul’s instructions to the church for women to be modest. There are passages about men need to grow up and not act like women. But, Rebekah was given a nose ring when she married Isaac. The prophets speak of a loving husband putting a ring on a wife’s nose. Of course you’re asking about men, not women, but I wanted to explain various passages. Here’s the deal: men wearing earrings was quite commonplace in the Middle East. Look at Babylonian or Persian art and you’ll see it everywhere. While Rome wasn’t as known for men and earrings, it wouldn’t have been out of the ordinary or shocking to see it. So no, I doubt most people cared if a man wore earrings in the Bible era. Now, we are asked to blend in with society and men are not asked to be effeminate. If you live in a culture where men having earrings is seen that way, you shouldn’t do it just to send the right message. But I can’t give you a direct verse that forbids it. Just keep in mind societal attitudes. Is the earring effeminate? Is it meant to show off wealth? Then no. But if it’s normal, I see no issue.
