Today felt weird. No alarm. No insta-checking what everyone’s saying about rocket-powered cars the second I opened my eyes. For almost 5 years, that was my daily routine. Today… just silence. Kinda got me feeling lost. 😞 Rocket League will always be a special chapter in my career. One of the most unique games out there, and a community that cares loudly and passionately. Behind the scenes, I was a central hub for your feedback, surfacing bugs, pushing for features, fighting to get eyes on the stuff that mattered most to players. Community isn’t just “posting on Reddit”; it’s hours of reading, translating, escalating, advocating. There was SO much we were pushing for y’all, and I am HEARTBROKEN that I won’t get to continue pushing these projects. 💔 And that’s the part that hurts the most… not getting to keep going. Not getting to keep fighting for this community. Just know: we cared. Deeply. Every day. About the game, about the players, about getting it right. This one stings. Bad. I’ll forever be grateful I got to work shoulder-to-shoulder with the legend @devinconnors, easily the highlight of this chapter of my life. One last time. GGWP. I’ll miss you, RL community. Hi everyone, back in this place to share the news. I was part of the layoffs at Epic Games today. I joined Epic 10 years ago, and I’m very proud of what I helped build there. On to the next chapter. Great things to come. Sic Parvis Magna.

@DemShenanigans Thank you. Woke up at 4am in a fugue. Slowly combing through Slack and socials trying to find out who was affected. This is the longest I’ve ever been at a studio and it hurts seeing so many friends just Thanos snapped overnight

It’s hard to describe to people not in entertainment. For almost all game devs, our work is also our hobby. We work on the things we choose to spend our free time on. We pour our hearts and souls into this work. We sacrifice so much to make people smile. My heart is broken

Remorse for those impacted by layoffs should not be dependent on whether or not you like the game they worked on. Every mass layoff or closure affects the industry as a whole and the impacts will continue to be felt for years to come

After almost 8 years, my time at Epic Games has come to an unexpected end. It’s hard to put into words what an incredible journey it has been, but I’ll try in this 🧵

Unfortunately me and my team were hit by the Epic layoffs. Still in shock at depth and speed it's happened at. I've loved the 5+ yrs here but I'm also deeply looking forward to taking a bit of a break and then finding something new and exciting to work on. Onwards and upwards!
