A space for teachers to connect with teachers about the REAL stuff! Thoughts are my own responses to teaching as I experience it.

Let's be clear. The Gov't had YEARS to prepare, over a YEAR to negotiate in good faith, and MONTHS to agree to binding arbitration. But they didn't. Why? Because they thought they could bully teachers into a bad deal. So what's changed? Why offer Binding Arbitration now? /🧵

@CTVDarrell @SaskMorningLive What about turning this to talking about the kids? The government doesn’t deserve nor have they earned the right to be able to sit and explain over and over a stance they haven’t changed since day one. Let’s talk about the kids and the supports they are not receiving.

@jeremycockrill You do realize you could change STF to Saskparty and it would hold true. This was asked of you MONTHS ago. Now you want to talk about a path forward? We don’t play by made up, one sided rules Jeremy. When can we get some adults in charge of this province?

@sage_stage This is interesting! I think part of helping our kids navigate life online we have to teach them how to effectively and honestly navigate things like #ai. Was this something your school has found a way to incorporate? Not something I’ve personally had to navigate yet.

Posting my loss once again. This time last year I saw a spike in AI use as I was giving my final project. I had declared that it had arrived in my building, and predicted that this year would be worse. Well, I was wrong, have hardly caught any students using AI this year.

@b_by_design Absolutely. This kid thinks he can do whatever he wants. Mom is aggressive with staff. He's going to a group home next year bc Mom doesn't want to be a parent. It's a lost cause. I promise we've been meeting all semester about this kid. I can only do so much.

If you feel the need to threaten those you employ, then you know you’re in the wrong. No. I vote no. ✔️ No thank you? We can say it in as many ways as you like but I believe you’re in for a very clear message. Easiest no I’ve ever given @PremierScottMoe

@b_by_design It's 5th hr after lunch. He wanders the building until someone finds him and escorts him to class because if he's redirected by any adult, he doesn't follow that directive.

@heymrsbond I wondered, certainly didn’t seem like something that really allows students to showcase what they know and can do.
