With 9 of the top 16 seeded teams in two regions, in high school Girls Basketball, 5 of the of the top 16 teams will be eliminated by geography. It shouldn’t be impossible for all 16 of those teams to make the SoDak 16. How could this be fixed?

@MattKerney 8 teams qualify in each region. Play down to the top 4 on Tuesday night. round of 32 at higher seeds and play that on that Saturday, then play the SoDak 16 on Tuesday like normal, hard to complain about travel on a Saturday when teams already travel all over for tourneys.

@MattKerney I got to watch up close Hitchcock Tulare, Colman Egan, Harding County and Herried selby. Two teams made it, two teams didn’t and the two that didn’t would have smoked the two that did. And the first team mentioned took the state runner ups to 4 sets both time they played.

@MattKerney The best teams in the state should be in the SoDak & state tourney. Being dictated by geography isn’t right and the past 3+ years teams have been left out of the SoDak16 that were better than 70+ other teams, that is hurting our kids that have proven they are better than others.
