We are in the midst of a hot war in the Middle East, with Oil prices kissing $120, a cooling (pre-war) labor market, and the odds of a recession ticking up from modest levels. And despite all of this geopolitical economic chaos, Silver and Gold are both crashing. Besides capital flow reversals and speculative unwind, can anyone explain what is driving this action?

@MoneyJrod When my wife's parents passed, we kept her relatively small (5 digits) inheritance in a separate account for her (under the estate plan, however). The segregation is mentally something for her to know that it's for her to use how she wishes. It's worked well, as one example.

@ConorMcGahey Because the Avalanche are too scared to play a physical game. They get pushed around all the time. And they are scared to lay a hit on anyone. They need a Charlie McAvoy. A guy that actually plays defense.

@Camp4 @Dagnum_PI Well tough to not take a hotel shuttle if you have an overnight layover to Vail (often for me). Yes, a 6 (or is it 7?) terminal drive via shuttle at DFW is a nightmare. Next time I get off at first terminal and take the train. Sans terminal D, DFW is old and tight.

@babs_73 @Dagnum_PI DFW is among the best. You park at your gate and security is never crowded. Never take hotel shuttles. DFW is bigger than manhattan so you don’t want to drive to all the terminals.

@Camp4 @Dagnum_PI So many others worse than DEN. Come on now 😉. Hotel shuttle, 3 miles to DFW two weeks ago took an hour to finally get to terminal nearly half the time it took me to fly from Philly to DFW.

@katywinge Katy maybe you can answer this better than anyone, for both nuggets and Avs. But, why do most back to backs involve travel? I speculate it’s to pack in road time to stretch out days at home but always been curious.

Reporting facts: The Nuggets landed in Denver at 4:19am Memphis time last night. My head to pillow was 5:30am. Tonight will be Denver’s 16th game without rest - the most in the NBA. The Nuggets also have the best win percentage since start of last year without rest (22-9).

@nickgerli1 Much respect for your work. Truly. But (and… here it comes). Do we really need another tax “holiday” that is disproportionally geared to the wealthy.? There already is a tax holiday for home sales with gains under $500k.

7) And there's actually a very easy way to do this. Eliminate capital gains tax for 2 years for all long-term owners, investors and regular owners included. This capital gains tax holiday will lead to a surge of listings, sales, and result in lower prices for regular Americans.

U.S. pending home sales just hit the lowest levels ever for the month of February. NAR reported a contract signing index of 72.1. This was 28% below normal February levels, down from last year. And 13% lower than February 2009, the depths of the last financial crash. We're mired in the biggest U.S. housing demand depression in history, and it keeps getting worse. The solution? Lower prices.

@EricLevitz Just so I understand your post…. Your view is that in order to help people to afford to live in a neighborhood we should allow PE firms to buy up the housing inventory? And then rent out said homes? What if, and I know it’s crazy, we just let single families own SFHs.

Amazing. Warren is deliberating trying to choke off investment in the construction of *new* single-family rental properties. This is profoundly regressive. Why is it OK for large investors to build and rent out apartments but not single-family homes? Many working-class Americans don't have high enough incomes or credit scores to buy a home. If we cut off investment in rental houses, then these families won't be able to live in large swathes of America: Roughly 70 percent of all residential land is zoned for single-family residences. The only way for working-class people to live in many affluent suburbs -- and access their high-performing schools -- is to rent a house. For this reason, corporate investment in single-family homes reduces socioeconomic segregation. Warren's policy effectively helps rich people keep working-class renters out of their towns -- while reducing the overall supply of housing and nudging up rents. It prioritizes populist symbolism over progressive outcomes.
Igor Bobic@igorbobic

Warren says the housing bill does *not* have a drafting error, as Schatz said today Rare Dem leadership split “The policy is to block private equity from taking over the single family home, and that is quite deliberate. There are some folks in private equity who don't like that, but it's a very deliberate choice that is supported on a bipartisan basis by 90 senators.”

The @EdmontonOilers with their most impressive win of the season! Total team effort tonight: Jarry stops 11 of 12 in relief for the win. RNH 2-0-2. Connor McDavid 1-1-2, 8-game point streak (2-13-15) Evan Bouchard 0-2-2, 8-game point streak (3-12-15) Leon Draisaitl 0-2-2.

@jennyrozelle It seems may have changed the name but yes. 🤣 During my wife’s time on boat they were called ancient mariners, you know, some “old people” who, were at the time probably younger than me today.

Travel speaks to my soul. Always has - ever since being a student on Semester at Sea (which was a loooong time ago!). I am supposed to go to Dubai later this year as part of a bigger trip. Disappointed to be reconsidering it, but maybe another year is the better call. ❤️‍🩹
