The recent days around the opening of Rutherford Chang's retrospective at UCCA Beijing have been quite a whirlwind.
That and Chinese internet have made it difficult to share many updates, but we'll be posting more as the exhibition is there for the next 3 months.
It's truly incredible to see Rutherford's art elevated at this scale. The curators Philip Tinari and Aki Sassamoto as well as the Estate led by his sister Danielle Chang have done excellent work.
And with CENTS, we're seeing Bitcoin Art on Ordinals recognized as a vessel of high art. We extend our gratitude that UCCA has been open to working with us so closely to present this emergent medium in a way that can meet the broader world of art and culture.
In the coming days we'll be sharing the panel talk, the archival documentation, as well as the press coming out about the exhibition.
The new Trait Explorer cents。vision has also seen its premier in tandem with this event - featuring a Trait Atlas as well the results of the Council's exhaustive final reviews and re-reviews of the 10,000 Cents.
Check in particular the Trait Atlas, as well as the cataloging of Contaminations and the much-needed Significant patina between Notable and Full.
The traits and rarities are now represented with operational completeness.
The retrospective will be in Beijing for 3 months, and the Estate is planning to tour it at other locations thereafter.
Rutherford Chang's work is an ever-speaking rabbit hole of timelessness, and we look forward to broader audiences discovering the true genius and magic that he brought into the world.
