@CarterCritiques “why take Drew Allar when next class is supposed to be this phenomenal QB class?” Wasn’t this supposed to be a “phenomenal QB class?”. That’s all we heard about with the Steelers loading up on picks for the 26 draft. That right there is why you take Allar.

It was cool to watch Rodgers play for the Steelers last year, but: - They didn't win a playoff game - Don't think he'll be better than last year - Likely not going to stay as healthy (16 G) - He will be a leader, but take important snaps from Allar & Howard Don't bring him back

@KevinAdams26 Hard disagree. Neither Howard or Allar are ready, Allar’s a project, Howard hasn’t taken a preseason snap. There’s real value learning from a cerebral QB like Rodgers in his system. (It being McCarthy’s is a HUGE value add). Can pivot to youth midseason.

Honestly man.. I know for the sake of competing THIS year, Rodgers is the guy for the Steelers. But I’d prefer not having him back. Not because he sucks. He’s fine for 9-11 wins. But I wanna see the youth play. Let’s rip the bandaid off and see what we have.

Agreed. The concept of “big boards” is so funny to me. Why would you value the consensus of a bunch of experts ranking prospects in a vacuum over your own team’s board, which is built specifically around its needs and the system it’s going to run?

@NWJP_824 So who’s returning punts and kicks with Calvin Austin gone? I agree that Wedjen was a “reach” but at the end of the day who gives a fuck if he becomes a reliable returner. We lost a handful of games the last few years because of pure incompetence there.

Disagree with this. The move should be the following: 2026: QB1 Rodgers with Allar and Howard behind. Trade Rudolph. If we are winning roll with Rodgers, if not then go to the young guys 2027: Plan to draft a QB Rd1 and have him, Allar and Howard compete for QB1

The Steelers should tell Aaron Rodgers not to come back. They need to find out what they have in Drew Allar and Will Howard. Bringing Rodgers back doesn't give you the best opportunity to develop both.

@ChrisDokish @FishKnowsBall What’s the problem with that tho? Max played RT in college and should remain RT. Fautanu was primarily a LT in college and only played RT because of Jones inability to. Should be a seamless transition for him. Putting Max at LT would be the same mistake we made with Jones

@FishKnowsBall The problem with that is that he has to play RT, and they have to move Fautanu to LT or maybe even LG. So if it doesn’t work, you then have to move the OL around just before, or during, the season. So he’d have to look great right away, which is certainly possible.

Dont really get the Allar hate. QB is the most important position in football and we had three 3rd round picks, you have to take some swings on high-upside guys Walking out of this draft with a starting caliber RT, WR, LG, a freak CB, and a dart throw at QB isn’t bad at all.

Counterpoint: we don’t even have a QB worth building around right now, so what’s the “immediate help” actually solving? Why not take a swing on a high-ceiling tackle at a clear position of need? It’s not like it was a reach either that’s right around where he was projected to go
