I've never in my life seen the fans of an adaptation performatively, ritualistically deride the source material like The Boys fandom does. It's especially strange for a comic adaptation. 20 years ago when normies got into Watchmen & The Dark Knight they at least pretended to respect the comics. Weirder is that Boys TV fans claim to hate the comic because it's too vulgar & tasteless, when the show itself makes a point of having extreme violence & twisted stories. I guess it really just comes down to the fact the comic used the n-word a few times.
