I have seen most of the comments and honestly, like the other times, they didn’t make me angry only that this time, I have chosen not to give them the honor of my coming out to respond or defend myself. On many occasions in the past, I found myself explaining things I didn’t even need to explain, which were often out of restraint. To those criticizing me today, if my achievements make them uncomfortable, they may want to prepare for a long ride. This particular project is already about 70–80% structurally complete and it won’t be the last, as more projects will follow immediately, so there will be even more for them to be angry about. Allah ya ba mu ladan zagin da ake yi mana muke kau da kai bamu rama ba saboda umarnin Sa.

I see people questioning his wealth as if he stole funds in the past administration. The truth is: - he may have had businesses outside his salary as the president’s aide. - he may have had friends or friends of his boss who have given him some money in the past or even currently. - he may have investors willing to invest in this current project. - it may be a loan he collected to fund the project to be repaid later. … all these are possibilities.

I met Bashir Ahmad for the first time in 2013 or thereabouts. At the time, I was working as a programme officer at a non-profit organisation on the top floor of the same building where Premium Times was already operating, just a floor below my office. Years later, Premium Times expanded into the office space we had occupied. Bashir, for his part, was then working at a Hausa-language media company owned by a former FCT Minister, with his office on the first floor, which meant that we ran into each other quite often. As for the narrative about him being a recharge card seller, that is actually a familiar story associated with another of Buhari’s aides.

@gimbakakanda Your number 4 is not correct, he wasn't a media practitioner, he was a recharge card seller that was loud about Buhari and got noticed.

we haven’t seen this kind of energy from you for a long time when people are suffering and dying due to insecurity, poor healthcare and bad governance, but when it’s time to defend your earnings and do rigakafi you’re active like chivita insider una 😂 we are familiar

Okay, I think we are being utterly unfair to Bashir Ahmad here. I’m not his friend in any sense, but as an insider, I should know enough to make this clarification: 1. Bashir was not an accounting officer of any MDA as a presidential aide, and that means he was not in charge of any public funds he could have tampered with. So, any claim about corrupt enrichment has to be situated within that context. 2. Not all presidential aides are paid by the government, and I’m not suggesting Bashir was one of them, but to dispel the narrative that all are paid by the government. Many are paid by donors, and they are usually well paid in such roles. No, I will not single them out for security reasons. So, the naira salary scale yardstick does not apply to all. 3. If, after over four years out of government, Bashir could not make good use of his social networks to build a revenue-generating enterprise or raise capital, then there would have to be something fundamentally wrong with him. There is nothing wrong with raising money through one’s social networks. 4. Bashir was a media practitioner before government, and his role gave him the visibility to build his brand and platform. I think he could sincerely survive on this in today’s world of public relations and promotion. I believe a lot of people and organizations would patronise him on account of his platforms and the influence they carry. 5. As a former government official, the assumption must be that he built a vast network he could rally around to mobilise funds for this initiative, which I believe is essential in the kind of community being targeted. We would be having a different discussion if Bashir had occupied an office where he was tasked with managing public funds. But the closest he ever was to government money was his salary, travel allowances, and, at worst, gifts. So, every suspicion of financial impropriety fails in the absence of evidence. 6. I am not defending his financial dealings here in any absolute sense, because I do not know him that closely. The point is that he is not the type of government official with direct access to public funds, but it is also unfair to dismiss the possibility of his social network coming through for him, or that he is making use of his time after government to make money.

Olodo In the 1980s, Nigeria was pushed into Structural Adjustment Programs by the IMF/World Bank. SAPs forced government to slash spending on public infrastructure such as power, water, health, education. Who designed those conditions? Washington consensus institutions with US Treasury fingerprints all over them. NEPA didn’t fail by accident. It was defunded by policy. Now zoom out to Nepal. Nepal sits on some of the most powerful river systems on earth. Hydroelectric potential that could power the entire subcontinent. Yet they remain one of the poorest countries in Asia, dependent on foreign aid, foreign expertise, foreign approval. Why? Because energy independence is geopolitical power. And powerful neighbors (with US backing) don’t want a self-sufficient Nepal. Two countries. Two continents. Zero electricity sovereignty. The CIA doesn’t need to cut your light. They just need to make sure you never build the switch. But because you can’t read not think objectively, you make careless tweets without realizing how hopeless you are.

THE MUSLIMS IN PLATEAU STATE ARE VINDICATED What will Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo say now? Nigerian troops under Operation Enduring Peace, in the early hours of Saturday, 18 April 2026, reportedly arrested nine suspected militia members responsible for targeted killings. Arms and ammunition were also recovered during the operation in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, amid ongoing security concerns linked to recurring attacks and cycles of violence in the area. The names of the captured suspects are as follows: Mr. Gyang Dantoro – Berom Mr. Samson Davou – Berom Mr. Choji Yakubu – Berom Mr. Vincent Adamu – Berom Mr. Pam Dalyop – Berom Mr. Femi Badung – Berom Mr. Jacob Musa – Berom Mr. Choji Chaga – Berom All the aforementioned names are the Kinsmen of Mr. Ezekiel Dachomo the Berom Militias. Now, the Fulani pastoralists and Muslims in Plateau State feel vindicated. None of the arrested suspects has been identified as Fulani, despite repeated accusations. None of the arrested suspects has been identified as Muslim, despite consistent claims. What will Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo say now—after lies upon lies, repeated accusations, targeting the fulani and the generality of the Muslims in plateau state? I repeat, what will Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo say now? I believe the world should now recognize that what is happening in Plateau State is an ongoing genocide against Muslims, not Christians, as it is being portrayed. I also believe that this narrative is being misrepresented and covered up by Mr. Ezekiel Dachomo and his associates. The world can no longer ignore what is happening in Plateau State. The violence targeting Muslim communities must be called out for what it is, rather than being misrepresented. Attempts to frame it differently are deeply misleading, and figures like Mr. Ezekiel Dachomo and his associates must be held accountable for promoting narratives that obscure the reality on the ground. Our prayer remains: May God continue to expose those who falsely accuse others based on tribal or religious identity, and may justice and peace prevail in Plateau State. Mustapha Mohammed Gembu
