@OdedRechavi This is amazing and incredibly creative! Was there a reason that you decided to administer IP instead of IV in vivo? In a conventional system you would expect better delivery IV, although this is far from conventional. Can't wait to see how this system develops.

It took more than a DECADE... but finally it’s published!!! It started as a CRAZY idea but after tons of hard work we built it: We hijacked the endogenous secretion systems of Toxoplasma gondii, a brain parasite, to deliver active proteins to neurons 👇 nature.com/articles/s4156…

Congrats to the City of Berkeley for winning a $5.1M grant to move the plan for a rebuilt pier and ferry service forward! cbsnews.com/sanfrancisco/n… We hear consistently from commuters who tell us how much switching from driving to the ferries improves their quality of life.

An update for anyone looking to give PERC a try: the delivery peptide we used throughout the paper is now available for purchase from @CPC_Scientific (link below). My first tweet of this thread has a link to a "how to" page with more helpful info. cpcscientific.com/products/catal…

This work has been a major part of my life in the @RossWilsonLab and I am very excited to see it come to fruition in the form of this manuscript, out now in @natBME. For a quick overview, check out this thread.

I’m excited to share our report - out now in @natBME - of a new approach to CRISPR delivery that is poised to transform the way engineered T cell therapies are manufactured. Visit tinyurl.com/CRISPR-PERC for “how to” details. It’s threadin’ time! (1/11) nature.com/articles/s4155…

70 years ago, 3 papers appeared in @Nature under the title ‘Molecular structure of nucleic acids’. In an article appearing today (link at end) @matthewcobb and I shed new light on ‘what Watson and Crick really took from Rosalind Franklin’. This thread summarizes our findings.1/23

@UofCalifornia should pay academic workers commensurate with their experience and expertise. If they can do so, science will benefit. Some of the smartest and most accomplished scientists are forced out of academia because of the pay.

Postdocs at UC Berkeley make $54,540/yr I do not expect academic pay to match industry pay. But academic workers should not have to put their lives on hold to stay in science. In the bay area $54,000 is not enough to buy a house, have a family, or keep savings.

If you are not aware, postdocs, graduate students and academic workers @UCBerkeley are currently on strike, demanding higher pay and other benefits. I can't speak for others, but I'll break down the math of being a postdoc in the bay area: 1/
