human memory are probably just a model that does RL constantly in real time, like cursors realtime RL. the brains weights are constantly being updated. in a future where compute is cheap, that might be happening for everyone running their personal agents? u can not only run a model locally on your machine, but also RL them when the device is inactive?

if you want to enjoy @lucasmeijer 's wit and humor, please watch his talk "a love letter to pi" youtu.be/fdbXNWkpPMY?si… still star struck.

today, a tall guy in a colorful sweater walked up to me. i was already at the end of my social energy reserves, having dozens of people walk up to me, never having 5 minutes to breath. the guy just wanted to say hi and thank me for pi. i thanked him for his kind words, like i did a lot of times today, hoping that i finally get my 5 minutes. until i looked at his name tag. it was @lucasmeijer one of the most instrumental people behind the Unity game engine. i was sort of star struck and we ended up speaking for 4 hours, chilling outside the venue, finding out that while we never meet IRL we had an immense amount of shared history. we reminisced about AOT compilers we worked on, shared ex-business partners , our shared emotional rollercoasters when we had to let go of the technical achievements that defined our lives, burning out, finding your identity again, all paired with an immense amount of laughter and the joy of having found a kindred spirit. we eventually went on a hilariously inefficient pub hunt, ending up at the weirdest fucking "upper class" establishment called "The OWO" where everyone was looking at us two dorks like we were aliens. They made us put stickers over our smartphone cameras and sold us lagers for £11 a pop. hilarious. i now remember why i loved speaking at conferences 15 years ago. i think i made a friend today. so, thanks @swyx and crew for putting together @aiDotEngineer and letting me clown around on stage. fantastic vibes, great people.

@karpathy PDFs are exceptionally difficult to convert: 1. they can embed assets that require OCR 2. they can have design choices that are open to interpretation 3. Markdown doesn't really support multi-column layouts

I know I've said it before, but if you're using jj and haven't used jjui: go and try it! I'm saying this as someone who's never used a UI for git in any shape or form. But jjui is just nice.

plan mode: "Hey, let's not modify any files and discuss this" ... dicsussion, files are explored ... "ok, put what we discussed in a .md file." ... agent writes first shitty version .. "alright, i opened it in vs code, let's collab on the file" ... plan forms and gets refined ... "ok, finally, at the end, instruct yourself which files to read in full so you get up to speed in a new session immediately" works in any harness, you pick your editing UI, your versioning, everything. the agent is just there to help blow through the codebase, optionally challenge your madness, and do the typing for you. i'd hate for a harness to dictate how this should be done. and most often the agent needs more than read/ls/grep for the exploration phase, as it may involve writing throwaway code/APIs.
David Cramer@zeeg

I use plan mode btw, and you should too. It is extraordinarily effective at helping you bring clarity, and in most harnesses it also helps improve the active context window. Can you ship lines of programming that compile without it? Yes. Except your job is not just shipping "code that compiles".

What about pi server mode? Still needs more refactoring. I've slopped together plans. BIG PLANS. You can read them here. They are not at all set in stone, but should give you an idea where things are heading. In no particular order. Agent session refactor: jot.mariozechner.at/s/cy2bzlpoilaa… New Pi extensions supporting server mode: jot.mariozechner.at/s/y4dw1jxqnlwb… pi server. this one is garbage, but directionally ok: jot.mariozechner.at/s/zgzbq9n4f4mf…

People of pi. I'm emerging from the refactoring mines to give you the first pi release with some new internals. If you have extensions, please direct your agent at the changelog and updated docs, so it can fix it. Most of you will not be affected.

My two cents 1.
XIN@anxndsgn

不知道大家都是怎么进行团队内的 skill 管理与维护的?今天同事问我,我说用 git,但转念一想,skill 又不是代码,需要的是类似于 notion 那种协作编辑,快速测试,验证发布的流程
