If someone were to ask me- if there is one place you must visit in Uttarakhand which place would it be, I would say you must visit Parvati Kund and Jageshwar Temples in the Kumaon region of the state. The natural beauty and divinity will leave you spellbound.
Of course, Uttarakhand has many well known places worth visiting and I have also visited the state very often. This includes the sacred places of Kedarnath and Badrinath, which are most memorable experiences. But, to return to Parvati Kund and Jageshwar Temples after many years has been special.

Soaking Pulses!
Most people have a habit of washing the lentils before cooking them but very few are habitual of soaking them!
Do you know soaking lentils has a number of benefits?
Here is why you should soak pulses👇
1️⃣Soaking increases the mineral absorption rate of the body.
An enzyme called phytase is activated when you soak the dal for some time.
Phytase helps in breaking down phytic acid & helps in binding calcium, iron & zinc.
This makes the absorption process much easier
2️⃣Soaking reduces the cooking time of pulses.
Soaking also activates a compound called amylase that breaks down complex starch in lentils and makes them
easier to digest
3️⃣Most legumes contain complex oligosaccharides, which is a type of complex sugar responsible for digestion issues like bloating and gas.
Post-soaking this complex content is significantly reduced which further saves you from gas troubles.
Tips to keep in mind when soaking pulses:-
1⃣Take the dal in the bowl and wash it with water. Change the water 3-4 times, before soaking it.
2⃣Soak the dal for min 30min to 2hrs depending on the type of dal
3⃣Discard the water in which it was soaked&pressure cook in fresh water
4⃣It is advisable to soak whole lentils like moong,toor,&masoor for 2hrs.
5⃣Split lentils like moong dal(chilka)should be soaked for 30min-1hr
6⃣Heavy legumes like rajma&chana/chole should be soaked for 12hours.
7⃣Simply soaking the pulses overnight would be the best option

I’ve been intermittent fasting and following a low carb/high protein diet for almost 9 months and results have been amazing.
Weight has gone down from 78kg to 66 (2kg more than my initial target) and BMI came down from 27 to 22.
The biggest improvement, though, is the 40% reduction in visceral fat.
Visceral fat is the fat stored deep inside the body around vital organs like liver, intestine and arteries and we can’t see or feel it. High visceral fat is more likely to raise risk for serious medical issues like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke and Alzheimer’s.
If you want to take control of your health, my advise is to following simple steps:
1. Start intermittent fasting, start with 14 hours and build upto 16-18 hours over a period of time. Go through my pinned tweet for more info on IF.
2. Reduce carbohydrates and increase protein and fat in your diet. Target to have 40-50gm of protein in every meal.
Eggs, chicken, fish, paneer and yougurt are some good sources of protein.
Protein and healthy fats will keep you full for longer and you won’t have urge to snacks in between meals.
Drink plenty of water though out the day.
3. Exercise for min 30 mins everyday. Anything you like, be it walking, running, climbing stairs or gym workout or HIIT etc
For best results, incorporate strength training for 2-3 time per week.
4. Get at least 7 hours of sleep; good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind.
