Uhh, got to go through us bud. There's no way in hell China would invade Japan. First off, Japan isn't Taiwan, they have a robust workforce and high level defense and tech sector. You add us, South Korea, Australia and the Philippines. Add to that Japan has a strategic partnership with India which is only getting stronger. All India has to do is park a Naval battle group in the strait of Malacca and China starves. Too many fronts to fight on.

Merz isn't wrong in saying he's "disillusioned" with the US & Israel over Iran because they "claimed at the beginning that they could solve this problem within days. This is typical of some EU leaders who support and help facilitate the US's worst instincts, and then pretend they are innocent when the foreign policy adventure predictably goes wrong.

The European Union finds itself trapped between irrelevance and moral depravity. Irrelevance, because it was never even summoned to the negotiating table, much less requested to rescind its illegal and futile sanctions. Depravity, because it has annihilated whatever credibility it once claimed to speak of international law, human rights, or basic decency. It practically went along with Washington’s unjustified withdrawal from the JCPOA, imposed illegal sanctions on the Iranian people, then illegally invoked the fictitious “snapback” mechanism. It stayed silent on the illegal aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran amidst negotiations, yet swiftly denounced Iran’s legitimate self-defense. As self-proclaimed defenders of international norms, they have remained silent in the face of countless war crimes committed by the U.S. and Israel—crimes that include the targeting of schools, universities, hospitals, pharmaceutical manufacturers, research institutes (such as Tehran’s Pasteur Institute), bridges, petrochemical facilities, and residential areas. Not a single meaningful statement was issued in response to threats to end a civilization, destroy power plants, kill civilian officials, or target diplomats if an agreement is not reached. All the while, the EU has conveniently averted its gaze from Israel’s genocide in Gaza, its endless violations of other countries’ sovereignty, its institutionalized apartheid, and its clandestine nuclear arsenal, which endangers the lives of millions of people across the globe. Spare us the talk about Iran’s sanctions, President @vonderleyen. Have you suspended the EU–Israel Association Agreement or not?
