He found a little more early pace in this race, and the extra 200m was in his favour. While he faltered slightly on Australia Cup Day, rating 96.7 when chasing Pride Of Jenni in the race won by Light Infantry Man, his form either side has been excellent. His two prior wins this preparation rated 98.5 and 99.8 (both peaks), followed by 101.3 and now 103 from his past two runs. ⚡️ Meridius - 98.5 Chased a strong speed over 1400m at Sandown and sustained that chase to win in fast time, while still above standard over the final 200m. That gives his 98.5 win some substance and represents a clear new peak, up from the 95.5 he ran first-up this preparation. 🚀 Flying Destiny - 96 Made it four straight wins deep into his current preparation, with Saturday’s 96 rating a new peak, up from 95. Two of those wins have come over 1110m at Doomben, with the other two at the Gold Coast over 1000m and 1100m. 🎯 Abounding - 94.5 Returned to a level right near her best with her 1350m win in the Group 3 BRC Sprint at Doomben. Her career peak remains 96.6, which came two years ago when beaten 2.2L in the Group 1 Tatt’s Tiara. Aside from that, she has run between 94 and 96 on nine other occasions across her remaining 31 starts. She is unlikely to be getting any better, but she has found something close to her best again and has shown in the past that she can hold good form. 🙌 Pinito - 94.5 Had mixed her form this preparation, coming off ratings of 89.5 and 86.8 at her previous two starts, but bounced back to the winner’s stall in the Group 3 Magic Millions Mile for Fillies & Mares. Her two peaks remain a 97.4 close second in last year’s Group 1 Queensland Oaks over 2200m and a 97.2 win over 1600m at Randwick four runs earlier this preparation.
