Let’s be honest….Frito Pie is the best to come out of Texas and a lot of these things are awesome….the garbage plate, fluffernutter, apple cider donut, the steamed burger, the spam musubi are all great and even scrapple!

I was calling to get utilities set up for the new house in Texas. The water & garbage are done by the city. I was surprised that I have to mail a check. Cash, check, or money order only. Why?

Does anyone else get asked to sign things at the doctor's office that aren't true? This is the second time. J is getting allergy shots, and the nurse says "I need you to sign this." I read it, and it says "I confirm we are leaving the premises despite being advised against doing so." I say "but we aren't leaving. You just told me we should wait here for 20 minutes, and we are." At the pediatrician: "we need you to sign this Good Faith Estimate. " Me: "I don't see the Estimate." Receptionist: "That is the Good Faith Estimate" Me: "... there is no number. If I sign this, you can charge whatever you want and I have to pay it. That seems contradictory to the purpose of GFE" Receptionist, now annoyed because how dare I read: "do what you want but they won't treat her if you don't sign and you'll pay a cancelation fee" How is this legal?

The kid next door (toddler age) is playing outside and just wiped out in his Fisher-Price car, and I just heard the babysitter say, "Oh no, your insurance premium is definitely going to go up!" And the kid who had only been mildly sniffling before made the most confused, but startled sound you've ever heard. Just very clearly an attempt at saying, "My what?" He straight up forgot about his scraped knee and is now worried about whatever the fuck an insurance premium is.
