The right candidates will uncover facts like a scholarly archaeologist, investigate theories like a homegrown Graham Hancock, set traps like a frontier mountain man, and then rush in, putting their subjects on-record in hallways, stairwells, and in their offices. Journalism is a trade. We don't care if you went to school for it. We care if you're voraciously hungry, fanatically driven, painstakingly scrupulous, pugnacious and prolific.
